Welcome

Hello, my name is Dionne and I have been crafting for a very long time. As a very young child my mother tried to teach me to knit, it was a disaster. However, it must have sparked an interest in making things and, partly to prove that I was not totally useless and partly because I really wanted to make things, I taught myself to crochet. Over the years I have developed a love of cross stitch and all types of paper craft ..... I eventually even taught myself to knit.

I am married to a very understanding man, thank goodness, because I spend all my time either crafting, thinking about crafting or talking about crafting. I am hopeless at housework and dinner is often late!

Thank you for visiting my blog.

One Thouand and One Nights

As you probably know by now, I was very late making my Christmas cards this year and, in order to get any cards made at all, I bought matching toppers and designer papers from Hunkydory Crafts.  I just added some bits and bobs from my stash to come up with my own designs.

In order to keep each post manageable I decided the post a few cards every day,

I should also apologise, these cards have a highly reflective surface and I had to turn then away from the camera in order to avoid the worst of the glare off the flash.

  1. Another gorgeous set. I have often thought of doing cards with several of my little house stamps and colouring them in jewel colours, but would probably need to start now to have them in time for Christmas 2022! So these tick all the boxes! The banner is a lovely design and I can't resist a Christmas rose xxx

    1. I love that idea, you should at least make a few of them.

The very first card I ever posted was a series of little houses with lights in the windows. It involved lots of masking and over stamping and took ages. I have not thought of it in years - http://deescraftroom.blogspot.com/2011/08/purple-thankyou.html

So, are we making our Christmas cards in February next year?

  2. We are going to start in February and we really mean it this time! I took a look at your houses, absolutely gorgeous. I'm wondering if I need to get new Promarkers and or crayons!,

    1. Sadly my Promarkers have been neglected for some time now and a lot of them have dried out and it will cost a lot to replace them. I was wondering about getting my F&C pencils out, the problem with them is I do not get a dark colour, it all looks washed out when I have finished. I don't know how other people get such good results.

I should have read your comments in order because I got the impression from one of your other comments that you were being tongue in cheek about starting our cards in February. As we are here on our own during this time, I was thinking I might even do a few this week.

      Happy Holiday's
