Welcome

Hello, my name is Dionne and I have been crafting for a very long time. As a very young child my mother tried to teach me to knit, it was a disaster. However, it must have sparked an interest in making things and, partly to prove that I was not totally useless and partly because I really wanted to make things, I taught myself to crochet. Over the years I have developed a love of cross stitch and all types of paper craft ..... I eventually even taught myself to knit.

I am married to a very understanding man, thank goodness, because I spend all my time either crafting, thinking about crafting or talking about crafting. I am hopeless at housework and dinner is often late!

Thank you for visiting my blog.

Angel's Song

December the first has to be one of my favourite days of the year, it is also the day I am reminded of how many wonderful friends I have. I am such a lucky person.

I should like to show you some of the wonderful things I have received, but where do I start?

I have been talking to you today about Advent Calendar's, so let's begin with another one. This coutdown to Christmas Day was made by the very talented Mrs Beez.

This fabulous tag book marks the days until Christmas Day. The tags have been distressed and even have ring enforcers

Each day promotes a different Christmas commodity, today it is the song of an angel.

Of course it came with a Christmas card, it is so lovely to see one of Mrs Beez's adorable creations.

I have not even started making my cards yet but we have already received cards from three friends, two of which are crafty friends.

This super cute card was made by the amazing Crafty Stamper, if you have the time go and check out her blog and see her fabbulous work for yourself.  Just look at those gorgeous grumpy penguins, so adorable.  Bah Humbug indeed!

I have also recieved this fantastic little Christmas Tree from my niece, isn't it stunning?. It came through the post, all neatly packed.  All I had to do was plant it into a pot and then add the lights and baubles and hay presto, a perfect living tree to brighten up any room.

Finally, a Halloween card I forgot to share with you at the time.  This is another Mrs Beez creation.

A big thank you to all of my friends, you make me realise how lucky I am and you have bought so much happiness into my life at this bleak time.

I shall be back tomorrow with more Advent tales.

  1. How funny to visit a blog and find your own work there - very lovely of you to share, especially as I forgot to take any pics. Love the penguin card too - brilliant humbug! Still not started my cards yet either. You know what? Let's start in February next year. 🤣🤣🤣

    1. We said that last year, in fact we solemnly promised to start them in February last year and then along came a little thing called Coronavirus and everything changed. I feel that all I have made this year are face masks. My count so far is 558, it's a good job I am not making them for a living - I would starve.

I am more than happy to share your amazing work - it seems very odd not to put a link through to your blog. I have plans for your work this month, all I am saying for now is watch this space.

    1. My friend Lisette, aka Mrs Beez, use to have a couple of blogs but recently gave them up. So now the only place you can see any of her back catalogue is on the Crafty Boots Challenges blog (http://craftybootschallenges.blogspot.com/) as she was also on the design team.

The tag book is fabulous and I adore it, I just wish you could see the one she has made for herself, she has been coutingdown since mid September.

You are more than welcome to the shout out, I hope you get a few visitors as a result.
