Hello, my name is Dionne and I have been crafting for a very long time. As a very young child my mother tried to teach me to knit, it was a disaster. However, it must have sparked an interest in making things and, partly to prove that I was not totally useless and partly because I really wanted to make things, I taught myself to crochet. Over the years I have developed a love of cross stitch and all types of paper craft ..... I eventually even taught myself to knit.


I am married to a very understanding man, thank goodness, because I spend all my time either crafting, thinking about crafting or talking about crafting. I am hopeless at housework and dinner is often late!

Firefly Fairies

For the next two week the theme of the Crafty Boots Challenge is Fantasy, which means anything magical or mythical.

This wonderful Lavender and Lace design of three fairies is by Marilyn Leavitt-Imblum and it is one of my favourites.  It is encrusted with beads and metallic threads, when it catches the light is really twinkles.






It is stitched on 32 count evenweave linen using 26 shades of stranded cotton, nine different colours of tiny beads, four separate shades of metallic braid, silk floss and treasure braid.

    Oh my goodness, these fairies are absolutely beautiful! It must have taken forever to do all the beads!

    Gosh! As a huge fan of your work I am in awe of this project. I love the fairies little feet and the intricate beading... and the colours... and just everything! Fabulous. Simply fabulous!

      I am afraid that I cannot help. The only place I can think of is ebay, someone may be selling their old stash, have your tried searching for Lavender and Lace designs?

    Hello... Hope this finds you well and getting the gift of lots of stitch time during these longer summer days.

    I'm in search of this pattern (Lavender and Lace #48 Firefly Fairies) and of course, it has been out of print for many years now. Would you happen to still have it, and if so, would you be interested in selling it? Alternatively, if not, would you have any other ideas of places I might be able to find a copy? Someone mentioned FaceBook, however I don't use Facebook.

      How strange, this is the second request I have received in as many days. I am afraid that it is a long time since I made this design and have no idea what happened to my chart. I hope you manage to track down a copy of this chart as it is quite stunning when it is made.
