Welcome

Hello, my name is Dionne and I have been crafting for a very long time. As a very young child my mother tried to teach me to knit, it was a disaster. However, it must have sparked an interest in making things and, partly to prove that I was not totally useless and partly because I really wanted to make things, I taught myself to crochet. Over the years I have developed a love of cross stitch and all types of paper craft ..... I eventually even taught myself to knit.

I am married to a very understanding man, thank goodness, because I spend all my time either crafting, thinking about crafting or talking about crafting. I am hopeless at housework and dinner is often late!

Thank you for visiting my blog.

Pearls in My Hair

Good Morning

I should like to say a special hello to all of my new followers, it is so nice to discover that someone new has joined this very elite group, please leave a comment when you have the time, I would love to hear from you.

Today I have a birthday card for you.  A very dear friend of ours was 84 this week.  I normally talk to her two or three times a day by emails and see her as often as I can, which is not as often as I would like, because she lives over one hundred miles away.

Over the years cockatiels have become a bit of a joke between us and as soon as I saw this digi stamp I knew I had to get it for her next birthday card.  I had great fun turning all of the little birds into cockatiels!

I am afraid I do not know what this fold is called but I am sure it has a name.  The image is called Pearls in My Hair and it is from A Day for Daisies.  They have some really lovely images and I should like to thank Elaine for pointing me in their direction.

I coloured the image with Promarkers and mounted it very simply on silver mirri board and covered the card with a sheet of pretty paper from a Docraft Papermania stack designed by Lucy Cromwell, which I have had in my stash for a while.  I also created a space inside the card for my birthday message.
