Welcome

Hello, my name is Dionne and I have been crafting for a very long time. As a very young child my mother tried to teach me to knit, it was a disaster. However, it must have sparked an interest in making things and, partly to prove that I was not totally useless and partly because I really wanted to make things, I taught myself to crochet. Over the years I have developed a love of cross stitch and all types of paper craft ..... I eventually even taught myself to knit.

I am married to a very understanding man, thank goodness, because I spend all my time either crafting, thinking about crafting or talking about crafting. I am hopeless at housework and dinner is often late!

Thank you for visiting my blog.

Another Little Mermaid

Good morning and welcome to day eight of my personal challenge to post a card every day for the duration of the current Crafty Boots Challenges, the theme of which is inspired by Children's Stories.  I want to thank everyone who has left me words of encouragement. There really would be no point in doing this if I thought no one had looked at my blog. Thank you all so very much, your messages mean so much to me.

How was your weekend?  I had a lovely relaxing time.  Just me, a stack of images and my pens, what could be better?  Well, I suppose the weather could have been better, it has turned quite chilly and wet.

So, day eight, I can hardly believe I am still managing to post a card a day.  Actually, I still have lots of images to share with you and in order to do that by the end of this challenge I think I am going to have to get my finger out and start posting two cards a day from now on.

If you have been following my journey you will remember that I made a card last week, featuring the Little Mermaid.  That one was a lovely Sylvia Zet stamp of a a merchild, today she is all grown up!

This Little Mermaid is Pearl by Saturated Canary.

I coloured Pearl with Promarkers and added crystal gems to her hair where the original image had small bubbles - I tried colouring them with clear WoS, then I tried Glossy Accents but neither looked right, so in the end I went with the small crystals.  I then mounted her on silver mirri and green glitter card.  The papers are by DoveCraft.

I hope to be back again later today with another card to share with you.
