Welcome

Hello, my name is Dionne and I have been crafting for a very long time. As a very young child my mother tried to teach me to knit, it was a disaster. However, it must have sparked an interest in making things and, partly to prove that I was not totally useless and partly because I really wanted to make things, I taught myself to crochet. Over the years I have developed a love of cross stitch and all types of paper craft ..... I eventually even taught myself to knit.

I am married to a very understanding man, thank goodness, because I spend all my time either crafting, thinking about crafting or talking about crafting. I am hopeless at housework and dinner is often late!

Thank you for visiting my blog.

Winter Magic

I hate to sound typically British but it is still bitterly cold here and looking at these cards actually makes me feel colder.

These cards are from the Hunkydory Adorable Scorable kit called 'Contemporary Christmas'

I think these images are adorable, certainly my favourite from the kit.  This frame was left over from one of the other sheets in the kit and the gold mirri snowflakes are one of my new purchases.  To complete this card I popped on some Card Candi and a sentiment from my stash.

Everything here is from the kit, except the sentiment and baker's twine - the sentiment is from Craftwork Cards.

Once again, with the exception of the sentiment, everything on this stepper card came from the kit.  I'm not sure if these are meant to be hares or rabbits.  I think rabbits, because the ears on a hare would be longer.

And finally, I mounted this image on 'old gold' mirri card and Stamin' Up Real Red card.  Then everything onto a 8x8 card blank from Craftwork Cards.  I think this one is going to hubby!

Elf time, what were these little darling up to last night?

After all of their partying the night before last I think they were all a little 'tired'!

Dot is still in bed and Daisy and Danny are playing Connect Four.

Can't blame Danny and Daisy for keeping their reindeer onesies on, they look nice and snug.

I have been a little disappointed not to see Ant and Dec, the very naughty elves, this year. But I have been told that they were so bad last year they have been told that they had to stay at the North Pole this year. They were very naughty and they were a bad influence on Daisy and Danny ... but they were funny!

  1. YEP! Still freezing here too! Just a few more days, by the sound of it though. Love your beautiful cards and it looks like your Elves are having a quiet time playing games, I hope they don't quarrel over who is winning hahaha

    1. I am beginning to understand why people retire to warmer coutries, this cold snap is really starting to 'bite' at my extremities!

I think it's starting to affect the elves as well, all this snuggling in sleeping bags and sitting around playing games.

Thanks for your lovely comments on the cards.

  2. These are beautiful, I love those images. Once again, the snowflake die cuts raise the game further. I do like the red too, I hope Ray loves it. Dot looks very snug in her sleeping bag, definitely the place to be. Still very, very cold and icy and yet bright sunshine.Keep warm xxx

    1. Oh this cold just seems so awful, I must be getting old!

So pleased that you like these images as much as me. I had a little accident with my other half's card - I did not spot that a damp tissue had got nudged on to the bottom right hand corner. No great damage done but that corner now has a cluster of white poinsettia!

  3. Beautiful cards and love the gorgeous images-not surprised the Elves are wrapped up-it has been raining and the snow and ice has gone but the wind is bitterly cold today-sorry a bit late catching up but had a close sudden death

    1. No problem Carol, I appreciate all of the comments you leave. It's still very cold here but most of the snow has gone but the forecast is for more snow tomorrow - I hope not!

      Take care.
