Welcome

Hello, my name is Dionne and I have been crafting for a very long time. As a very young child my mother tried to teach me to knit, it was a disaster. However, it must have sparked an interest in making things and, partly to prove that I was not totally useless and partly because I really wanted to make things, I taught myself to crochet. Over the years I have developed a love of cross stitch and all types of paper craft ..... I eventually even taught myself to knit.

I am married to a very understanding man, thank goodness, because I spend all my time either crafting, thinking about crafting or talking about crafting. I am hopeless at housework and dinner is often late!

Thank you for visiting my blog.

Cosy by the Fire

I never know how to start a post, if I reference the day of the week and someone comes along on another day, then it will no longer be that day.  The only times I feel safe doing this is Christmas or New Year because then I hope the reader will forgive me.

Hopefully that has bridged that gap.  The following cards are all from the gorgeous Hunkydory Adorable Scorable kit called 'Christmas Classics', the individual sheet is called 'Cosy by the Fire'.

I did not have to do much to these pre-coloured toppers, I used 3D foam and popped them onto the matching backing card - job done.

(The sentiment on this card is from Craftwork cards.)

Nice and simple.

We have a lot of elf photographs today.  You may have spotted that we have not seen anything of Louis and Coco recently, I understand that they have been sneaking in during the night and leaving little presents for the children but they were gone before mum could get her camera out!

Mind you, the naughty boys were back last night and they set a trap for Louis and Coco.  It's not nice, you may not want to look!

The naughty boys have managed to lock them into a jar, poor Louis and Coco.

Oh my, it's worse than I thought.  Look at what they have done!

Poor Daisy has a peg on her nose!

Oh and Louis has one too.

I can share a little secret with you, the elves put peppermint oil in this jar but none of the children wanted to risk a sniff in the jar.

Let's check what Daisy and Danny got up to last night after they disgraced themselves the night before.

Seems they redeemed themselves by putting up some Christmas decorations.

House lights on .....

Houselights off.

Have you been looking for Dot?

I spy reindeer, but I cannot see Dot.

Ah, there she is!

Be back with more elf stories tomorrow.

    1. Thank you Faith, but I cannot take credit for the elves. I have two grown up nieces and they both have young children, the elves belong to them - this is why you see two lots of elves, I know this can be confusing for some people. About 5 years ago I started sharing the photographs they send to me and the elves were far more popular than my cards so I have kept on sharing their adventures with everyone. I do not know what we are all going to do when the children get too old for stories of elves (I also have no idea where my nieces get all of their ideas from). I am really pleased you enjoy reading about the elves though, the do make a change. Makes me wish I was young again.

    1. Thank you Carol. Both sets of elves have reduced to toilet humour this week but children love that sort of thing, seems to me that boys never grow out of it! I confess that they make me laugh when the elves are being a little bit naughty.

This set of cards were a treat to make, they needed very little work to turn them into something a bit special.

      Take care.

  3. Love this set, those images are so cosy! Those naughty elves - poor Louis and Coco. As if being trapped in a jar wasn't bad enough without the smell!! How they are still smiling I do not know! xxx

    1. Thank you Mrs B. I know how they are still smiling, their smiles are stitched on! Silly.

As I just told Carol, those cards were so easy to make, they just fell into place, they almost made themselves. Although, I felt I had to do something to make it look as if I had made them so I but the images on foam pads. The trouble with that is they cost more to post! Silly me!

      Take care.
