Welcome

Hello, my name is Dionne and I have been crafting for a very long time. As a very young child my mother tried to teach me to knit, it was a disaster. However, it must have sparked an interest in making things and, partly to prove that I was not totally useless and partly because I really wanted to make things, I taught myself to crochet. Over the years I have developed a love of cross stitch and all types of paper craft ..... I eventually even taught myself to knit.

I am married to a very understanding man, thank goodness, because I spend all my time either crafting, thinking about crafting or talking about crafting. I am hopeless at housework and dinner is often late!

Thank you for visiting my blog.

Christmas Time

WARNING: If you are easily shocked or have a delicate constitution, you should read no further than the end of the Christmas card section of this post.

Christmas is getting awfully close now. I managed to get the last of my cards in the post a coulpe of days ago and I just have left the cards I hand out to close family. These tend to be those with more embellishments and layering - the sort which you really don't want to send through the post.

Today's group of cards are all from the Hunkydory Adorable Scorable kit called 'Christmas Classics', the sheet called Christmas Time.

This beautiful image features Santa's Workshop, it seemed far too nice to squash onto a 5 x7 inch card, so I mounted it on some of Stampin' Up's Real Red and some gold mirri card and popped the central image up with Pinflair Glue Gel.  The whole thing was then mounted onto one of Craftwork Cards 8 x 8 card blanks and I added a sentiment from my stash.

This card features a smaller version of the workshop surrounded by some inserts depicting images from inside, these are raised on 3D foam.  I added a sentiment and a little star from my stash.

The little elves attempting to keep the reindeer under control are actually part of one of the backing sheets from this set.  I mounted the inset cards on some more Real Red card and added the die cut Christmas Bauble.

The final Christmas card for today is an image of more elves placed atop of a diamond shaped frame (It's really a square stuck at an angle).

Don't forget to avert your eyes now!

One of the girls lost a tooth yesterday.  The Tooth Fairy has left the money with Dot to look after whilst the little girl sleeps.

But what have the other two been getting up to while all this has been going on?

Oh dear, clearly they have been up to no good .....

Stay safe if you have to go out today and keep warm.

    1. I suspect you have a wicked sense of humour Carol and you would get on a treat with these naughty elves. Have you ever checked around to make sure you do not have some living in your house?

Thank you for the comments on the cards, I really appreciate you taking the time to pop by.

  2. As you know, I've been saving my visit to your blog until I've finished work. Confession time! That's how it started, but then I couldn't resist taking a sneaky peek and popping back to comment and enjoy a second visit. But I realise I've come unstuck as I forgot to comment. These are stunning cards, the images have real dimension and your layouts are, as always, perfect. I really don't know what to say about those elves and I'm so glad Dot has been given the money, I feel she looks trustworthy. I'm fast becoming a big fan of hers. xxx

    1. What are you like Mrs B? I'm like that with chocolate and biscuits but instead of forgetting to go back, I go back so often that they are soon all gone. When I first started work I use to make sandwiches for my lunch. But I found I was eating them earlier and earlier until in the end I was hungry again at lunchtime but all the sandwiches were long gone.

I was a little worried yesterday when I spotted that neither you or Carol had left a comment. I thought you had got bored of the elves and my easy to make Christmas cards. Glad there was nothing wrong.
