Welcome

Hello, my name is Dionne and I have been crafting for a very long time. As a very young child my mother tried to teach me to knit, it was a disaster. However, it must have sparked an interest in making things and, partly to prove that I was not totally useless and partly because I really wanted to make things, I taught myself to crochet. Over the years I have developed a love of cross stitch and all types of paper craft ..... I eventually even taught myself to knit.

I am married to a very understanding man, thank goodness, because I spend all my time either crafting, thinking about crafting or talking about crafting. I am hopeless at housework and dinner is often late!

Thank you for visiting my blog.

Candles and Holly

I am making very slow progress with my Christmas cards this year.  I think maybe because I cannot resist cutting out more of those new dies I mentioned yesterday.  They are lovely but what a mess they make everywhere.  All of thse tiny off-cuts get walked all over the house, they are nearly as bad as glitter!

Today I have another very quick and easy card, this time using a candle and holly die, green card, gold card and some baker's twine.

Having safely arrived from the North Pole our elves, Louis and Coco, seem to have taken some time out to relax and are playing pool - I just love their alternative to green baize.

At least they bought some chocolates with them.

Hoping that you have a great weekend.

    1. Thank you Carol, these dies make really easy cards, perhaps I should do something similar for my Christmas cards and stop over complicating things. They would all be done now if I had taken that route.

I agree, chocolates are always welcome but I would quite like a visit from the clean and tidying elves.

    3. But even your simple flat cards are gorgeous and must take you ages to make.

      Keep crafting.

    1. That green does work well with the 'old' gold of that mirri card. The only problem I have with the stencils is the glue, too little and they do not stick and too much and I get it everywhere and it ruins the backing card. I've tried several different glues but I have the same problem with all of them.

So nice to be chatting to my friends every day, I've missed this.

  3. Those Elves are certainly enjoying themselves on the fab table. As for your die, it is gorgeous, and I love the beautiful colour mix.

    1. Thank you so much Faith. The olive green card does work well with the 'old gold' one.

Those elves get up to far too much fun if you ask me!
