Welcome

Hello, my name is Dionne and I have been crafting for a very long time. As a very young child my mother tried to teach me to knit, it was a disaster. However, it must have sparked an interest in making things and, partly to prove that I was not totally useless and partly because I really wanted to make things, I taught myself to crochet. Over the years I have developed a love of cross stitch and all types of paper craft ..... I eventually even taught myself to knit.

I am married to a very understanding man, thank goodness, because I spend all my time either crafting, thinking about crafting or talking about crafting. I am hopeless at housework and dinner is often late!

Thank you for visiting my blog.

The Twelve Days of Christmas

We had our first snow of the year last night and it was cold.  It seems gone are the days when snow excites me and I cross my fingers that the school will be closed in the morning.  Now the cold creeps into my bones and I exclaim bah humbug!

Enough of this frippery I have been on a bit of a hiatus for the last few days but it is time to get back to the cards I have been making from the Hunkydory Adorable Scorable kit called 'Contemporary Christmas'.

No prizes for what this set is called, the always popular Twelve Days of Christmas theme.

This one is a 8x8 Craftwork card blank. I mounted the image on gold mirri card and Mossy Meadow card from Stampin' Up.  A sprinkling of Mulberry poinsettia flowers from Wild Orchid Crafts and a sentiment from my stash.

This card has a little secret ....

The trouble is I have no idea where to write my message!

Next up, some pretty Christmas Baubles.  A smattering of frames and hay presto.

I liked it so much, I did it twice.

I went a little bit fancy with this final card, I have no idea what you call this fold but it has become a firm favourite with me in recent years.

After their spa day, Louis and Coco the Elves were in a chilled out mood last night and bought hot cocoa drinks for the children.

Things were very different over in Daisy and Danny's home.

After making it snow outside on Sunday, they spent the night decorating the windows with paper snowflakes.

Did you spot those cute little reindeer outfits both Daisy and Danny were wearing?  I also spied the chocolate tree decorations, yum!

Ow, I almost forgot, the England elf team won their World Cup, you know who to put your money on next time.

Also, do you remember the rubber duck/reindeer from yesterday's post?  Apparently he is just one of 3 reindeer ducks that pull Santa's sleigh in the elf world!

Have a lovely week.

  1. Anything to do with the 12 Days of Christmas is an instant hit with me! There's something beautiful nostalgic about the bauble cards, really elegant too. The elves reindeer outfits are just adorable. I bought some of those chocolate decorations - they are definitely elf sized and not quite what was expecting!!!! xxx

    1. When it comes to chocolate I am afraid that it is all elf sized these days and it costs a fortune, such a shame you can't afford to fall into a diabetic coma these days!

As I made the 12 Days of Christmas cards I thought of you and wished I had not already sent you a card - but at least you received it.

How much snow do you have now?
