Welcome

Hello, my name is Dionne and I have been crafting for a very long time. As a very young child my mother tried to teach me to knit, it was a disaster. However, it must have sparked an interest in making things and, partly to prove that I was not totally useless and partly because I really wanted to make things, I taught myself to crochet. Over the years I have developed a love of cross stitch and all types of paper craft ..... I eventually even taught myself to knit.

I am married to a very understanding man, thank goodness, because I spend all my time either crafting, thinking about crafting or talking about crafting. I am hopeless at housework and dinner is often late!

Thank you for visiting my blog.

All Wrapped up for Christmas

I treated myself to an early Christmas presents, a couple of Sizzex Bigz dies.

The first is a Christmas Tree decoration.  I cut the branches out in red glitter card and the star and pot in green because I had run out of gold glitter card.  The pot and branches are threaded onto a wire with pearl beads in between each branch.

The other die was for a small gift box.

After cutting the shape. I glued it together and added a wrap and some ribbon.  To be honest, I think to practice more.

I'll be back in the morning with more Christmas cards

    1. Thank you Carol. I was not very happy with either design really. I need to use stronger wire in the Christmas tree in future, the one I used would not stay bent, and therefore I was unable to create a hook to put it on the Christmas Tree.

The die for the box has both cutting lines and fold lines and I do not know whether it was because it is very new or if I put too much pressure on the die but a lot of the fold lines were cut through and I had to tape it together. I also think with hindsight that it should have been a five sided box not a four. Like I said, I need more practice.

  2. Love these and I'm so happy to see I assembled the tree correctly! The red is stunning but I have to say that the green glitter fard version you sent me is so pretty and sparkly. I managed to tie a loop at the top and then use a hook to hang it from. I adore the little box too. xxxx

    1. I am pleased you managed to assemble your kits, having talked to you about them, I thought you might like to have a go yourself.

If you read my comments above you will see that I was a little disappointed with the dies. Never mind, I'll try again.
