Welcome

Hello, my name is Dionne and I have been crafting for a very long time. As a very young child my mother tried to teach me to knit, it was a disaster. However, it must have sparked an interest in making things and, partly to prove that I was not totally useless and partly because I really wanted to make things, I taught myself to crochet. Over the years I have developed a love of cross stitch and all types of paper craft ..... I eventually even taught myself to knit.

I am married to a very understanding man, thank goodness, because I spend all my time either crafting, thinking about crafting or talking about crafting. I am hopeless at housework and dinner is often late!

Thank you for visiting my blog.

Wedding Scrapbook Page

This past week has flown by and I am back today with the Mid Challenge Reminder for the current Crafty Boots Challenge.  This week we are looking for 'Anything But a Card'.

Now, I have been quiet about it up until now but I think you are about to hear a lot about the wedding we went to last weekend because it has taken up an awful lot of my time, from making the invitations and knitting cardigans for the bridesmaids to making my own outfit and now a scrapbook album ... and a few other things, which I am not going to mention right now.

Today I want to share with you a scrapbook page.  I very rarely share my scrapbook pages with you and you could be forgiven for thinking that I never make them.  I regularly make scrapbooks but I do not publish them because I am very aware that other people may not want their faces splashed all over the internet.  However, I thought that this photograph was perfect for sharing, I must thank the brides best friend Amy for allowing me to use her photograph here.

I wanted to keep the colours muted and in keeping with the black and white photograph.  These papers are a First Edition paper stack called 'The Promise', these are beautiful papers and perfect for weddings.  The artist, Katie Pertiet, is a very talented lady.  The green card is from Stampin' Up.  I made the sentiment on my computer.

I added several butterflies, the first being a Memory Box one - Viviene.  I added some faux pearls to the thorax.

I kept back some of my confetti and, as it was cut in the shape of butterflies, thought it would work really well here.

My final butterfly die is Marianne Creatable Butterfly 3 die - a few more of those pearls.

We have had some amazing entries into this Craft Boots Challenge but there is still time for you to share your projects.

Good luck.

    1. You know what they say about Jack of all trades! Perhaps I should concentrate on getting one thing right but I would find that boring, so I flit from one thing to the next. Ha ha!

  2. WOW Dionne, this is glorious!! Love the photo you chose, and the muted tones were a perfect fit for the sepia photo! Gorgeous papers, so many wonderful layers. The confetti was a great bit to include and that silver butterfly is exquisite! Stunning page my friend! Sounds like the wedding has really kept you busy, must be a relief to have it behind you now. sending hugs :)

    1. Thank you, thank you. Those papers are gorgeous, they are a fabulous quality and have different finishes - embossed, textured, satin finish and all in pretty, soft tones.

I was pretty shattered last week and took a couple of days to just do nothing. But then I got bitten by the bug and wanted to start doing things with my wedding photos.

      Have a lovely week.
