Welcome

Hello, my name is Dionne and I have been crafting for a very long time. As a very young child my mother tried to teach me to knit, it was a disaster. However, it must have sparked an interest in making things and, partly to prove that I was not totally useless and partly because I really wanted to make things, I taught myself to crochet. Over the years I have developed a love of cross stitch and all types of paper craft ..... I eventually even taught myself to knit.

I am married to a very understanding man, thank goodness, because I spend all my time either crafting, thinking about crafting or talking about crafting. I am hopeless at housework and dinner is often late!

Thank you for visiting my blog.

The Toy Box

Back again with the Crafty Boots Mid Challenge Reminder, the current challenge is to 'use a stamp'.  This can be either an actual stamp or an electronic, digital, stamp.

For my card today I have dug out one of my 'vintage', wood mounted, rubber stamps by Stampendous.

I coloured the image with Promarkers and mounted it on silver mirri and Real Red card.  I also made a rosette from the Real Red card using a Tim Holtze die.

The backing paper is from a paper stack called Timeless Textures.  The silver strips are washi tape from the Forever Friends range.

The rest of the Crafty Boots Design Team have made some lovely samples and we are lucky enough to have not one but three very talented Guest Designers this week - Andree (Aloha Cards), Lisa (Handmade by Lisa) and Carol (Crafty Stamper).  Seriously, make sure you take a peek at their work.

  1. Fabulous card - love the colour scheme. Think I need to get myself a rosette die as they always look brilliant and it's such a faff folding by hand.xx

    1. Thank you. I agree the rosettes do always look good.

I would recommend having a rosette die in your collection, they are great as rosettes and as stylised daisies. However, you do have to have extra long cutting plates.

    1. Thank you. Getting out my old wood block stamps is like a trip down memory lane for me. 25-30 years ago we used them in a far less sophisticated ways ... and the result was a lot less attractive. However, this new craze was exciting and a friend and I went all over the place to buy them - we literally drove hundreds of miles to go to craft shows. (Twice a year we did a 300 mile round trip to THE craft show.) It was a great time and we had so much fun. Happy days!

    1. Thank you. That new paper stack was a great find, they are the sort of designs I might spend a hour creating myself and there they were already made for me - all 180 sheets!
