Welcome

Hello, my name is Dionne and I have been crafting for a very long time. As a very young child my mother tried to teach me to knit, it was a disaster. However, it must have sparked an interest in making things and, partly to prove that I was not totally useless and partly because I really wanted to make things, I taught myself to crochet. Over the years I have developed a love of cross stitch and all types of paper craft ..... I eventually even taught myself to knit.

I am married to a very understanding man, thank goodness, because I spend all my time either crafting, thinking about crafting or talking about crafting. I am hopeless at housework and dinner is often late!

Thank you for visiting my blog.

Poppy Bookmark

It is incredibly hot here today, we have been experiencing something of a mini heatwave here and they are predicting that the temperature will almost reach 100 degrees today.  I am afraid that I am one of those people who do not enjoy the hot and humid heat we get in this country.

Never mind, I have another bookmark to share with you today.  This one features the Memory Box Prim Poppy die.

I cut out the die twice, the first time in plain green card and the second in yellow and white polka dot paper.  I then removed the polka dot flower heads and pasted them over the green ones.  Well I say I pasted them over the green ones, that is not quite true, as you can see, one is missing.  I looked everywhere for it but could not find it.  So, instead of a polka dot head, this flower has a glittery head - I had to do something, I had already put the glue on!

I mounted the die on some red and some white card and added a few black pearls and ribbons (I am sorry you cannot see the ribbons better, they are very pretty, the top one is a dotty organza).

  1. Thank goodness this store has air-con is all I can say!!!! Love the paper piecing and if you hadn't said anything I would have assumed the glitter was on purpose as it looks fab. Glad it's not just me that loses essential bits!! xx
