Welcome

Hello, my name is Dionne and I have been crafting for a very long time. As a very young child my mother tried to teach me to knit, it was a disaster. However, it must have sparked an interest in making things and, partly to prove that I was not totally useless and partly because I really wanted to make things, I taught myself to crochet. Over the years I have developed a love of cross stitch and all types of paper craft ..... I eventually even taught myself to knit.

I am married to a very understanding man, thank goodness, because I spend all my time either crafting, thinking about crafting or talking about crafting. I am hopeless at housework and dinner is often late!

Thank you for visiting my blog.

Scenic ATCs

Emm, I was supposed to have published this post last Friday.  Opps, sorry!

Anyone who visits my blog regularly could not fail to notice that I have been very enamoured with Delicious Doodles artist, Teri Sherman's, scenic images.  Whilst making the postcard I posted last week, it occurred to me that it might be fun to shrink the images and turn them into ACTs.

It wasn't that easy to get the size right because all of the images as different sizes and then, of course, it is a bit hit and miss lining them up on the Sizzix Bigz die, but I eventually got there.

This image of Gordon Castle and it's garden is called 'Scottish Castle and Gardens'.  I coloured it with F&C pencils and added a little die cut butterfly in the corner.

The next Delicious Doodles image is of the Craigellachie's Telford Bridge called 'Craigellachie Bridge'.  Again I coloured it with my polychromos pencils and added a little die cut butterfly in the corner.

Next up is an image of Eilean Donan, one of Scotlands many picturesque castles, this is called 'A Scottish Castle'.  I coloured it with F&C pencils and again added a little die cut butterfly in the corner.

The next image is of The Gordon Arm'e Hotel in Fochabers, it is called 'Vintage/Victorian High Street'.  Once again I coloured it with my polychromos pencils and added a little die cut butterfly.

Finally, Fochabers Old Spey Bridge, this one is called 'Vintage Anglers/Fisherman'.  Coloured with F&C pencils and again I added a little die cut butterfly in the corner.

This was a bit of a challenge but great fun.  There are a lot more of these images on the Delicious Doodles site, I think I wil do this again with some of the other images.

    1. As you can tell, I have manage to identify all of the places in these images and they are all within a few miles of each other. So a little holiday visiting them all, and possibly staying at the Gordon Arms Hotel, would be great fun.

I must have at least half a dozen snowy scenes and the same number of seaside views, I think they will also make fabulous ATCs.

    1. Thank you, I will probably have a go at the snowy scenes when I make some more Christmas cards. Perhaps I will have a go at the beachy ones for next week as this challenge is sunshine.

    1. Thank you so much, I do love colouring these digi stamps. I thought it would be harder to colour them in miniature, but it wasn't as hard as I thought it would be.

    2. I'm glad it wasn't as hard as you thought it would be! Your work looks like a lot of work! I am glad you are passionate about this and it shows! How long did this take?

    3. Oww, good question. I have no idea but I would guess that each digi took about 15-20 minutes to colour.
