Welcome

Hello, my name is Dionne and I have been crafting for a very long time. As a very young child my mother tried to teach me to knit, it was a disaster. However, it must have sparked an interest in making things and, partly to prove that I was not totally useless and partly because I really wanted to make things, I taught myself to crochet. Over the years I have developed a love of cross stitch and all types of paper craft ..... I eventually even taught myself to knit.

I am married to a very understanding man, thank goodness, because I spend all my time either crafting, thinking about crafting or talking about crafting. I am hopeless at housework and dinner is often late!

Thank you for visiting my blog.

Wedding Day

I have been looking forward to August for a long time.  During this month, and a week or two either side, we have a time for great celebration, with two weddings and two births.

Last weekend we were lucky enough to be invited to the wedding of one of the daughter's of some of our oldest friends.  It only seems like a few years ago that we were celebrating her birth and here she is a grown woman, with a hugely fulfilling career, walking down the aisle.  She looked stunning in her beautiful fishtail dress and her father was so proud.  Not to detract as all from the bride, but her sister and Maid of Honour, also looked amazing.

I find wedding cards very difficult to make, I do not know why but I have never found an image that I am completely happy with.  However this stamp from Indigo Blu is a big favourite of mine, it is very versatile and I love its intricate design.

The stamp is called Love Is and I stamped in with a purple Archival ink.  Once the ink was dry I mounted it on some holographic silver mirri card and some purple pearlised card.  The textured backing paper is from a gorgeous 12x12 stack called The Promise by First Edition.  The sentiment stamp is by Stampin' Up.

This card would, of course, be perfect for the current Crafty Boots 'Use a Stamp' Challenge.

  1. That really is a stunning stamp and it looks fabulous in the purple with the coordinating ribbon and glimpses of mirri. x

    1. Thank you my dear, although I fear I have a tendency to use the same layout every time I use this stamp. Mind you that textured backing paper really is something special, I think I need to get my hands on some more of it.

      Have a wonderful weekend.

  2. This is a nice wedding card. I like the colors. It can be hard to make any type of card but I think you did a great job!

    1. Thank you. Watch this space because I made two, but they are not identical, I suspect you will prefer Take II.
