Welcome

Hello, my name is Dionne and I have been crafting for a very long time. As a very young child my mother tried to teach me to knit, it was a disaster. However, it must have sparked an interest in making things and, partly to prove that I was not totally useless and partly because I really wanted to make things, I taught myself to crochet. Over the years I have developed a love of cross stitch and all types of paper craft ..... I eventually even taught myself to knit.

I am married to a very understanding man, thank goodness, because I spend all my time either crafting, thinking about crafting or talking about crafting. I am hopeless at housework and dinner is often late!

Thank you for visiting my blog.

So Many Santa Hats!

If there is something I should be able to knit in my sleep it is these Santa style hats.  I have lost count of the number I have made over the past 18 months.  Although, between you and me, I actually enjoy both making them and decorating them.

My Santa style hats come in all sorts of sizes because the aim is for them to fit any number of toys in the house - so they can party along with those naughty Elves.  One day last week I shared a photo of some of this year's hats and today my other niece discovered Santa hats in her Advent box.

To be honest, I cannot remember which niece got what hats, but here is another selection - featuring some of my favourites .....

Arlen and Rowena have been trying hats on their bear friends, don't they look cute?

I am still playing catch-up with my backlog of elf photos, today it is the turn of Louis and his girlfriend (it really is time they gave that poor girl a name).

They are so sweet snuggled up in bed together.  Many more toys and my niece's daughter will not be able to get in!

I hope these little sweethearts put a smile on your face this drab Monday morning.

  1. Surely you must hold some sort of hat knitting rexord?! Your post is timely! I started putting up my decorations and there were the two hats you gave me last year, right on the top. This is a gorgeous selection, I love the one with the tree with the beads.

    1. Ha ha, that is one of my favourites too. You would think I could make hats in my sleep but no, I still have to get the pattern out!

  2. The grinch here has had a rethink and I dashed to the shops well limped at the moment due to arthiritis in my knee !!!Got a load of decorations and balloons and got the room finished before grandaughters came---but they were brought here to stay as they are both really poorly and hardly noticed all my efforts!!!Loving all the hats and I loved the one with the tree too

    1. Kids!!!

I am sure they noticed really, just not feeling much like getting excited.

This weather is playing havoc with my knees too, I have been hardly able to walk these past couple of days, I hate feeling like this, as I am sure you do too.

You are still doing much better than me, I may have finished making my cards but I have only written in about a dozen. However, I have just finished writting all of those Christmas letters to people you only ever write to at this time of year, they seem to get harder to write every year.

I hope your housefull are feeling much better soon and everyone is in the party mood.

      Humbug xx
