Welcome

Hello, my name is Dionne and I have been crafting for a very long time. As a very young child my mother tried to teach me to knit, it was a disaster. However, it must have sparked an interest in making things and, partly to prove that I was not totally useless and partly because I really wanted to make things, I taught myself to crochet. Over the years I have developed a love of cross stitch and all types of paper craft ..... I eventually even taught myself to knit.

I am married to a very understanding man, thank goodness, because I spend all my time either crafting, thinking about crafting or talking about crafting. I am hopeless at housework and dinner is often late!

Thank you for visiting my blog.

Last Minute Christmas Shopping

Where is this month going?  One minute you are thinking that you are doing really well with your Christmas prep and then you turn around and you are panicking, it's the same every year.  How are you doing, have you sent your cards?  Wrapped all of your presents?  Put up your decorations?  Bought all of your food, made mince pies, your Christmas cake etc?

I am planning on keeping it simple this year ha ha!  I did the last of my shopping yesterday and today I plan on decorating our tree - I am always a bit late putting it up but I need help getting it out of the attic and have been waiting on hubby as usual - have your met Mr Bah Humbug?

If you have any last minute shopping, I imagine this little outfit would be perfect.  All dressed in this lovely holly green.

All of my elf knitting patterns are by Helen Cox available from Ravelry.

I wonder what Daisy made of this festive outfit?

Can you spot her hiding between the storage boxes?

She looks very smart in her new green clothes, I think that the colour really suits her.

    1. We still have no tree, it is up in the loft and I need to get poor hubby up there to get it down and now he is not well .... perhaps it may have to stay there this year.

We had our last trip to the shops last night and I bought 5 2020 calendars as stocking fillers and I still have to wrap them and I have two cardigans on the go but if they are not finished in time, no one will notice. Other than that, we are done. I too use to make cakes for the whole family and loads of mince pies but, as I have got older, I realised that these things do not seem to matter anymore, so I don't bother.

Take the time to relax and enjoy yourself.

  2. This outfit is wonderful. I tend not to go for green but I would totally wear this and get red stripey tights too. Got the big shop done this morning so almost there! Just a few bits to get that won't be the end of the world if we don't. However, need to remember to pick up the veg from the greengrocer. Sorry to hear Rays not well and hope he's better soon xx

    1. Big shout out for me, we have decorations, sadly, I should have got new batteries for some of the Bethlehem Lights ... and I really don't want to have to get up there again this year!

Looks like you are all done too, it's a good feeling isn't it?

Merry Christmas Lisette, take a bow.
