Welcome

Hello, my name is Dionne and I have been crafting for a very long time. As a very young child my mother tried to teach me to knit, it was a disaster. However, it must have sparked an interest in making things and, partly to prove that I was not totally useless and partly because I really wanted to make things, I taught myself to crochet. Over the years I have developed a love of cross stitch and all types of paper craft ..... I eventually even taught myself to knit.

I am married to a very understanding man, thank goodness, because I spend all my time either crafting, thinking about crafting or talking about crafting. I am hopeless at housework and dinner is often late!

Thank you for visiting my blog.

Bah Humbug - Day 2

Here I am back with Day 2 of my 'Little Cotton Rabbit' Advent Calender.  Given the weather we are having this week this little dress seems very appropriate for today.

I struggle to show these little knitted toys off to their best advantage so I have been experimenting with stands.  Unfortunately, it looks like the stand is strangling the rabbit, I hope you are not feeling traumatised.  Sorry!

But it does give you a good view of the dress.  The pattern in called 'Love Ewe Snow Much' and it was designed by Suzie Marie, who very generously shared the pattern on Instagram.

The dress is knitted in 4 ply cotton.  I am afraid that my pink is very pale and it is difficult to make out the tiny pink hearts.

Back tomorrow, have a great day.

  1. I didn't notice the stand until I read your post in detail. Firstly, the rabbit is totally adorable but that dress!!!!! I love your knitted sheep in their winter scene and the tiny pink hearts are perfect. So looking forward to seeing these each day. X

    1. Thank you, as you know, I really enjoyed making both these dresses - and the ones for my niece's elves. I never knew that I would become so addicted to knitting, just like my mother and my grandmother. It came late in life to me but both of my sisters have been knitting all of their lives. Perhaps it is in our genes.

    1. Aren't they cute. I think the person who came up with there design must love them too because they put in an appearance in 3 or 4 of her designs.
