Welcome

Hello, my name is Dionne and I have been crafting for a very long time. As a very young child my mother tried to teach me to knit, it was a disaster. However, it must have sparked an interest in making things and, partly to prove that I was not totally useless and partly because I really wanted to make things, I taught myself to crochet. Over the years I have developed a love of cross stitch and all types of paper craft ..... I eventually even taught myself to knit.

I am married to a very understanding man, thank goodness, because I spend all my time either crafting, thinking about crafting or talking about crafting. I am hopeless at housework and dinner is often late!

Thank you for visiting my blog.

Louis and His Girlfriend Make Themselves at Home

The long journey from the North Pole tired Louis and his girlfriend out and they took things easy last night.  They kicked off their shoes and relaxed reading, painting and colouring in front of a roaring fire.

As you can see, they have a lovely portrait of Father Christmas hanging above their fire with a beautiful carriage clock and a table light on the mantelpiece.

The table lamp even works, giving off a lovely warm and homely glow.

The girl elf got out her new glasses to read her Harry Potter book.  Did you spot her little pet?  I have managed to find out that his name is Pom - can you guess why?

Unfortunately naughty Louis spilt some of his painting water on his girlfriend's book.  He spoilt the cover but the inside is still fine.

Louis loves puzzles and colouring books, as you can see he has a lot.

My niece spent a lot of time making this room for their guests, with all of the tiny books and the amazing mantelpiece with the lamp.  But I think that my favourite thing are these tiny little pencils made from cocktail sticks.

I believe that their change of clothes came as a surprize but I am amazed her son even noticed with all of the other things going on here.

    1. The patience of my neice, can you imagine how long it took her to paint each 'pencil'? Her favourite part of this scene is the fireplace - I love the books on the shelves either side of the fire.

  2. Yep, I agree those pencils are pure genius! I had to zoom in and look up real close because they look so real!! I love the night light on the fireplace too (although I'm sure you meant to say it gives off a 'homey' glow?) lol. A fabulous diorama, so much fun! hugs :)

    1. Thank you. I believe the light is made from one of those tea lights which are powered by a battery. My niece stripped it back and added the shade - ingenious.

Thank you for leaving comments, I know Katie is looking to see if anyone has.
