Welcome

Hello, my name is Dionne and I have been crafting for a very long time. As a very young child my mother tried to teach me to knit, it was a disaster. However, it must have sparked an interest in making things and, partly to prove that I was not totally useless and partly because I really wanted to make things, I taught myself to crochet. Over the years I have developed a love of cross stitch and all types of paper craft ..... I eventually even taught myself to knit.

I am married to a very understanding man, thank goodness, because I spend all my time either crafting, thinking about crafting or talking about crafting. I am hopeless at housework and dinner is often late!

Thank you for visiting my blog.

Deep in the Forest - Day 11

There is something about this stripped back pine forest which I find very attractive.  I am sure some people will feel that is represents the aftermath of a nuclear winter, with the stick trees and golden sky, but I find the design compelling.

It is another pattern variation by Suzymarie  called 'Winter Woods' based on Julie Williams 'Seasonal Dresses' leaflet.  As with many of the dresses in this series, I have knitted it with the fuller skirt option - I think I prefer it to the tighter sundress design.

I have made it in soft 4 ply cotton.

  1. These are not two colours that I would usually choose for myself but if I had the option to wear this I wouldn't hesitate, it's gorgeous. Like the fuller skirt too. Another great job! X

    1. I know, it's weird isn't it? I had to buy these two colours to make this dress as they were not even in my collection. They were the colours used to illustrate the pattern and I just had to have a go.
