Welcome

Hello, my name is Dionne and I have been crafting for a very long time. As a very young child my mother tried to teach me to knit, it was a disaster. However, it must have sparked an interest in making things and, partly to prove that I was not totally useless and partly because I really wanted to make things, I taught myself to crochet. Over the years I have developed a love of cross stitch and all types of paper craft ..... I eventually even taught myself to knit.

I am married to a very understanding man, thank goodness, because I spend all my time either crafting, thinking about crafting or talking about crafting. I am hopeless at housework and dinner is often late!

Thank you for visiting my blog.

My Favourite Things

Things are getting busy busy around here - on top of which two posts in one day.  Although this is my second post of the day, I have to declare that did not make any of these things.

A day or two ago I realised that I had not shown you the wonderful Advent Calenders I had received from my fabulous friends.

First up is this amazing traditional Advent Calender in the shape of a house.  Each day I get to open another window.  The whole thing is lit from within by a battery operated tea light candle and as the windows open the light shines out.  I just wish you could see it.

Here is the Advent Stocking I received from my BFF this year, isn't it gorgeous?  I took all of these photographs at the beginning of the month, so the stocking is still full.

It is not so full now but I am loving all of the thoughtful gifts I have been unwrapping - can you make out the cute little pegs with the numbers on, what a terrific idea.  This super sweet little elf was one of my presents.

There is more, I received this wonderful Advent Candle - I know, it does not look at it's best in this little jam jar, but I do not have a suitable candle stick holder.  One is on order but I guess it is caught up in the Christmas post.

Another great Advent tradition, each day a segment is burnt in the run up to Christmas Day.

Finally, the candle came with this stunning Advent card from my very good friend Mrs Beez.

Gorgeous or what?

I am so lucky, I am surrounded by so many amazing people, all of whom I love dearly.  Thank you ladies.

I hope you all have a wonderful weekend.

    1. Isn't it? I have never seen and Advent Calender like it, all the things in the windows are really old fashioned and remind me of the ones we had when I was a little girl.
