Hello, my name is Dionne and I have been crafting for a very long time. As a very young child my mother tried to teach me to knit, it was a disaster. However, it must have sparked an interest in making things and, partly to prove that I was not totally useless and partly because I really wanted to make things, I taught myself to crochet. Over the years I have developed a love of cross stitch and all types of paper craft ..... I eventually even taught myself to knit.


I am married to a very understanding man, thank goodness, because I spend all my time either crafting, thinking about crafting or talking about crafting. I am hopeless at housework and dinner is often late!

Advent Countdown - Day 16

Welcome back to Day 16 of my 2018 Advent adventure.

Today we have another outfit for my friend's adopted Elf on a Shelf. You have already seen the other jumper and matching hat outfits - on Day 7 it was the red Scandinavian styled jumper and on Day 11 it was the blue jumper with the snowman motif.


Today's jumper is similar to the traditional Aran design. (Aran jumpers take their name from the Aran Islands off the west coast of Ireland. The traditional Aran Jumper is usually off-white in colour, with cable patterns on the body and sleeves.)  This jumper is made of Double Knit yarn and the hat is made of soft 4 ply cotton.  The jumper pattern was designed by Helen Cox and available from Ravelry.

I think Elvin the Elf was helping out by doing a bit of Christmas shopping yesterday ...

    Love the gorgeous Aran jumper-knitted a few of these when my eldest two were small.Thank you for the comment on my card and the sentiment is a stamped one from IndigoBlu

      I should love to be able to make a proper Aran jumper, I cannot cope with the tricky stitches and three needles, I do so envy you.

    Beautiful work! How big is it? It looks so soft. I seriously need to start knitting as my new craft! I hope you and your family have a great holiday and new year as well! (thank you for your note on my post!) Hope all is well! Things are slowing down a bit for me which is a good thing. Rest has never felt better! :)

      It's wonderful to hear from you, I have missed you.

      The jumper is about 2 and half inches long, so quite small really, you would no be able to wriggle into it.

      This is the most organised I think I have ever been but I only have a couple of decorations up at the moment, I need to put the knitting needles down and try harder with the decorations.

    Hi

    It's like I always say, I just follow the pattern. You have to admit, that is one spoilt elf, Santa is really generous. I never stopped to think about how much and elf earns before. What about The Tooth Fairy or The Easter Bunny?
