Welcome

Hello, my name is Dionne and I have been crafting for a very long time. As a very young child my mother tried to teach me to knit, it was a disaster. However, it must have sparked an interest in making things and, partly to prove that I was not totally useless and partly because I really wanted to make things, I taught myself to crochet. Over the years I have developed a love of cross stitch and all types of paper craft ..... I eventually even taught myself to knit.

I am married to a very understanding man, thank goodness, because I spend all my time either crafting, thinking about crafting or talking about crafting. I am hopeless at housework and dinner is often late!

Thank you for visiting my blog.

Oh Christmas Tree

Day thirteen of my personal 'Christmas in July' challenge to share with you the miniature outfits I have been knitting for my niece's Christmas elves.

Today's matching pair come from one of  Julie Williams 'Seasonal Sweaters' patterns. This design is called 'Oh Christmas Tree'.  I think this is so cute.

I added some little coloured faux pearls to the trees, these came from ebay.

As you will know by now, the original pattern was designed to fit the 'Little Cotton Rabbits' series of soft toy but these are a little smaller than the Christmas elves I am making these clothes for, so I made these clothes in double knit instead of 4 ply.

I reworked the chart to come up with the design for the dress and I again attached the little coloured faux pearls they are a lot more lustrous than they appear in the photographs.  The dress pattern is from Julie Williams 'Seasonal Dresses' pattern.

PS Whilst I really love to read your comments, I will understand if you do not feel you have anything to say about yet another dress and jumper combo, perhaps you could just say hi to let me know that you stopped by.

  1. This is possibly my favourite so far but only possibly as there have been so many! Love the little pearls as baubles and the colours are so cheery and festive. Wonderful! X

    1. I would not like you to think that I am making them this fast, I made them a few weeks ago but saved them so I could post them for Christmas in July.
