Welcome

Hello, my name is Dionne and I have been crafting for a very long time. As a very young child my mother tried to teach me to knit, it was a disaster. However, it must have sparked an interest in making things and, partly to prove that I was not totally useless and partly because I really wanted to make things, I taught myself to crochet. Over the years I have developed a love of cross stitch and all types of paper craft ..... I eventually even taught myself to knit.

I am married to a very understanding man, thank goodness, because I spend all my time either crafting, thinking about crafting or talking about crafting. I am hopeless at housework and dinner is often late!

Thank you for visiting my blog.

Little Red Tulips

Day twelve of my personal 'Christmas in July' challenge to share with you the miniature outfits I have been knitting for my niece's Christmas elves.

Today's matching outfits are based on a design I saw on Pinterest and I have spent the past hour trying to find it again without any luck.  However, I have all of the details on my laptop, which of course I cannot access these at the moment, but it went into the shop yesterday, and once it is fixed I will edit this post.  (My laptop is back from the computer shop and I can now credit the designer of this pattern, it is Pam Clyde)

I cannot remember the designers name but I do remember that she called this pattern 'Little Red Tulips' and her chart is available from Ravelry.

As you will know by now, the original pattern was designed to fit the 'Little Cotton Rabbits' series of soft toys.  The original patterns were written for 4 ply but, as the elves I have been knitting for are a little larger than the Little Cotton Rabbits, I have made mine in baby soft double knit.

As with most of these designs, once I had made the dress, I re-worked the chart to get the pattern for the jumper.  The dress based Julie Williams 'Seasonal Dresses' and  I used her 'Seasonal Sweaters' patterns for the jumper.

PS Whilst I really love to read your comments, I will understand if you do not feel you have anything to say about yet another dress and jumper combo, perhaps you could just say hi to let me know that you stopped by.

    1. We are so attuned, this is hardly a Christmas design so I used red and green to try and make it a little festive. Cute though, isn't it?

    1. Hi, it is lovely to see you back. I am having lots of computer problems at the moment - isn't it frustrating?

I think this one is really cute too.
