My plans to post a Christmas elf outfit everyday during July have rapidly gone awry. The observant ones amongst you would have spotted that I missed yesterday. That was because my laptop packed up on me Friday evening. I spent ages yesterday trying to get it going again but nothing doing. I have borrowed my husbands old machine today to write this post but it is soooooo slow and terrible frustrating, I do not know how he puts up with it. Still, I should not grumble, at least it works!
I have another 'matched pair' of designs today. After making the dress I re-worked the pattern to get the pattern for the jumper. The dress is another of
Suzymarie's variations of the Julie Williams '
Seasonal Dresses' and '
Seasonal Sweaters' patterns. The original pattern was designed to fit the 'Little Cotton Rabbits' series of soft toys.
The original patterns were written for 4 ply but as the elves I have been knitting for are a little larger than the Little Cotton Rabbits I have made mine in baby soft double knit.
Suzymarie has called this design 'First Flurries'. As you can see, I have picked out the points of the snowflakes on the jumper with little silver seed beads.
I hope I can continue to post using my husband's steam powered laptop, but bear with me if something else goes wrong.

PS Whilst I really love to read your comments, I will understand if you do not feel you have anything to say about yet another dress and jumper combo, perhaps you could just say hi to let me know that you stopped by.
Love that blue as a backdrop for the snow flurries.Hope you get your laptop sorted x
ReplyDeleteThank you, it is a pretty colour isn't it? I wasn't sure I liked the beads so I did not bother putting them onto the dress. What do you think?

ReplyDeleteThank you, I cannot decide which is my favourite, it changes every day.

Same here. My MOST favorite colors are aqua-ish colors (blue, turquoise, bluish green), lilac (purple, lavender..) and green. Always in that range.
