Welcome

Hello, my name is Dionne and I have been crafting for a very long time. As a very young child my mother tried to teach me to knit, it was a disaster. However, it must have sparked an interest in making things and, partly to prove that I was not totally useless and partly because I really wanted to make things, I taught myself to crochet. Over the years I have developed a love of cross stitch and all types of paper craft ..... I eventually even taught myself to knit.

I am married to a very understanding man, thank goodness, because I spend all my time either crafting, thinking about crafting or talking about crafting. I am hopeless at housework and dinner is often late!

Thank you for visiting my blog.

Scottie Dogs

Surprise!  I am back with yet another red cardigan.

Once again I found that I was rapidly running out of red yarn and I was not sure I had enough to make another cardigan with what remained.  My solution was to mix in a little of something else, I trawled through my patterns and found this little sweetie with Scottie Dogs on the front.

At the end of the day, I am not sure it actually saved me very much red yarn but it does make a lovely cardigan.  Sadly, this is another one which turned out a little on the large side, so it may be a few months before my niece gets to wear.

You could not have failed to have noticed the change in colour of the yarn in these close ups.  In reality, these are the truer colour.   I think the camera flash is so intensive, it has lightened the colour of the first photograph.

The pattern is a VERY old Sidar, Snuggly one #3236.  I hope my niece likes it as much as her Auntie Dionne does.

    1. Thank you Carol. We are opposites when it comes to knitting, I have trouble with cable stitch but love Fair Isle. Although, once I get all of my Christmas projects out of the way I think I shall have another go at my Arran patterns.

It's a disgusting day here, stay warm and dry.

    1. Thank you, as they say 'what goes around, comes around'. I should imagine that my pattern dates from the 60's ..... it is cute though.
