It is hard to believe, but it is exactly a month to Christmas Day, I am sure you are all prepared - presents bought and wrapped and cards made and written awaiting posting. I am still struggling to get the boxes and tags made for my Advent Calenders and all of the presents for them wrapped up, these are my current priority because I have to get them delivered this week ready before the end of the month. I bought my Christmas card kits back in the summer but, despite all of my good intentions, I have not made any cards, so that will be my next project.
After that I must do something about our decorations, when do you put your decorations up? Do you go OTT or do you just have a few special decorations? I have a friend who only ever uses natures decorations, fresh holly, logs ... and perhaps a few candles.
Back in September I shared with you a
navy and white bunny jumper and, at the time, I warned you that I did not think it would be the last time you would see that pattern. This pattern has become something of a favourite in my family and here it is again, this time in petrol blue and white (honest, it is a different jumper).
This lovely Fair Isle pattern is by Emu, number 8776A, and is made in double knit. The bunnies on the front have gorgeous knitted pompom tails - the bunnies on the back have flat tails so the do not dig in the back of the wearer.
Some time ago I made this jumper for one of my nieces, I had not been knitting very long at that time and the pattern represented a massive challenge to me, but it was worth all of the frustration. Back then I did not put my knitting on my blog and the only photo I have of that jumper is this one, which her mother sent to me of my niece wearing it (apologies for the poor quality).
I hope you have a great week.

LOVE this, cute and stylish all in one hit. I especially love this colour combo but the pink is pretty too.You will know that I go OTT decorations wise starting with outdoor lights ready to be switched on in the 1st and decorating the tree as the final thing around 19th. Getting there with cards, but the light has been so poor it's tricky. X
ReplyDeleteThank you Lisette, I imagine you would like this one in any colour combo - although I would not recommend petrol blue and cream (this jumper started life in those colours and, it looks so bad, I pulled it apart and started again).
DeleteI just know that your house is the best decorated in the street and one day I shall get to see it.
Have fun making your cards.

So pretty! Very pretty colors. I put up decorations beginning of December! I have young children so less ornaments get broken if I put them up later. Such a great design! I'm checking out the other posts right now!
ReplyDeleteThank you for the fabulous comments. I do love this pattern, not exactly easy to make, but I always imagine how delighted I would have been to have a jumper like this - and I know that my niece basks in all of the attention she gets from the grown-ups around her when they see her wearing it. Ha ha, young children can be so funny.

Both beautiful jumpers Dionne the patterns are gorgeous especially the little bunnies.I used to go OTT with large tree and decorations and all up on the 1st Dec but last few years we have downsized to one small tree which grandaughters decorate and no decorations just the tree!!!I am in the middle of writing cards and only send immediate family handmade cards the rest get bought ones!!!

Thank you Carol. I have a strict rule, no decoration until all of my presents and cards are made. Cards sent and everything wrapped, therefore some years I never quite get around to large scale decorations .. just a few bits placed here and there.
