Welcome

Hello, my name is Dionne and I have been crafting for a very long time. As a very young child my mother tried to teach me to knit, it was a disaster. However, it must have sparked an interest in making things and, partly to prove that I was not totally useless and partly because I really wanted to make things, I taught myself to crochet. Over the years I have developed a love of cross stitch and all types of paper craft ..... I eventually even taught myself to knit.

I am married to a very understanding man, thank goodness, because I spend all my time either crafting, thinking about crafting or talking about crafting. I am hopeless at housework and dinner is often late!

Thank you for visiting my blog.

Fancy Red Cardigan

I still have a long way to go with posting all of the red cardigans and jumpers I have been making for my little niece.  This is one of my failures.

I got a little fed up with knitting the same pattern over and over, so I thought I would jazz things up a bit with this rather lovely lacy design. After all, the uniform is not compulsory, so I though I might get away with it.

I made it in the same size as the other bits and bobs I have been making for her, the trouble is, this one came out huge.  I don't think it will fit her the year after next!

I suppose she will have something to keep her warm in her old age but, in the meantime, I am going to have to make another cardigan for pre-school.

    1. Thank you Carol and likewise. If it wasn't for you and Lisette, and all of the support you give me, I probably would give up my blog but I love sharing the things I make with the two of you. Thank you.

    2. I love seeing what you make too-maybe try and find a few challenges to fit them in and get more comments-it's weird you see all these followers at the moment I have 401 but apart from the challenge comments there is just the same handful of people who regularly comment of which I am thankful for.I commented on someones blog the other day and she had over a thousand followers and maybe over 6 months posts with not one comment!

    3. Wow, over a thousand followers and no comments, that's sole destroying. I have only ever managed to attracted 54 followers, but as you pointed out I have only ever entered a handful of challenges. (Which, when you think about it, is weird when you consider that I use to run a challenge blog.) Still, I like to think that my two regulars are my friends and I look forward to having a chat with them.

      Have a good day.
