Welcome

Hello, my name is Dionne and I have been crafting for a very long time. As a very young child my mother tried to teach me to knit, it was a disaster. However, it must have sparked an interest in making things and, partly to prove that I was not totally useless and partly because I really wanted to make things, I taught myself to crochet. Over the years I have developed a love of cross stitch and all types of paper craft ..... I eventually even taught myself to knit.

I am married to a very understanding man, thank goodness, because I spend all my time either crafting, thinking about crafting or talking about crafting. I am hopeless at housework and dinner is often late!

Thank you for visiting my blog.

Butterfly Exhibit

Welcome, I hope you had a wonderful weekend.

We have reached the midway point in the current Crafty Boots Challenge.  The theme of the current challenge is 'Stars of Stripes'.  The last DT card I shared with you featured stars, so today I decided to go with stripes.

I have been splashing out quite a bit of late and invested in some new crafty bits, including this Memory Box die.  Regular visitors will know that recently I have been experimenting with creating my own backgrounds, I have gone a little further here, I created the design for the paper I cut the butterflies from.  Another recent purchase was a set of Ecoline inks and a some pipettes .  I used the red ink from the set and drizzled it over some heavy paper, I then sprayed some water on it and chased the little rivulets around the paper with my heating tool.  I got this idea after watching one of Pamellia Johnson's fabulous YouTube video's.

As you can see, I dusted a little ink around some texture card and added the butterflies to the centre, I then mounted the card onto some black pearlised card and, finally, I attached the whole thing to some striped paper from Dovecraft.  The butterfly sentiment is from Kanban Crafts.

We have two very talented Guest Design Team members joining our regular ladies this week, so don't forget to pop over the the Crafty Boots Challenges blog and take a look at their gorgeous cards.

    1. Thank you. I do not think you have to use Ecoline inks but certainly some bottled ink. I have managed to cut quite a few things from the sheet of paper I made so watch this space to see what else I made.

Aren't those Ecoline inks just juicy!! Can't wait to see what you come up with next my friend!! hugs :)

    1. Thank you Pamellia. I think my next shout out will be when I have a go at your fabulous roses, your latest video was a real eye opener.

You will be amazed at how many things I squeezed out of that sheet of paper, you are going to be seeing quite a bit of it.

      xx
