Welcome

Hello, my name is Dionne and I have been crafting for a very long time. As a very young child my mother tried to teach me to knit, it was a disaster. However, it must have sparked an interest in making things and, partly to prove that I was not totally useless and partly because I really wanted to make things, I taught myself to crochet. Over the years I have developed a love of cross stitch and all types of paper craft ..... I eventually even taught myself to knit.

I am married to a very understanding man, thank goodness, because I spend all my time either crafting, thinking about crafting or talking about crafting. I am hopeless at housework and dinner is often late!

Thank you for visiting my blog.

Wishing Laughter, Joy and Love

Another week almost over and only another week left of this month, where does the time go?

I want to say a big thank you to all of my regular visitors for all of your support and encouragement, you have no idea how much I cherish your visits and treasure each and every comment you leave.  As you know I have recently been experimenting with a different style of card, one which uses punches and dies and not stamped images, I have also been trying out created backgrounds instead of using pre-printed papers.

For this card I have used the sheet of paper I patterned with some red Ecoline ink following a process I saw on one of Pamellia Johnson's amazing YouTube video's.  I really regret not taking a photograph of the paper before I cut it up.  I used a Martha Stuart punch to create the 3D hearts and Memory Box's Sylvan Corner die.

I used some blue ink to dust around the edges of some white textured card.  I also used a black pen to mirror the corner in the bottom corner.  The sentiment is from my Kanban Crafts stash.

I hope that you have a great weekend.

  1. Oh boy Dionne, you've done it again! I really need to try doing this, I always try and decorate my die cuts after they're cut but I just love the effect you get by doing it this way!! Gorgeous card, love your little 3D hearts, so pretty! Thanks for the mention, you are really very sweet for mentioning me! hugs :)

    1. I made this card for my sister's anniversary and I was delighted with the look but her first thoughts when she first saw it was that I had bled on the paper and I was trying to get the effect that the hearts were bleeding. Emm, I think that may have been the last message I wanted to send. Oh dear!

Thank you for your lovely comments.

    1. This is the second of my new Memory Box dies and it has similarities with one and three, as in one is butterflies and three is also a corner die - they also have small elements which lift of the paper, in this case 2 butterflies. Unfortunately. you cannot see them in this photo :(.

The inky paper gives the whole thing a very different dimension, doesn't it?

      xx
