The current
Crafty Boots Challenge theme is 'Christmas in July', when the challenge started we were experiencing a mini heat wave but this week it is much easier to believe that Christmas is on its way.
After an awful lot of soul searching, I recently treated myself to a set of Faber and Castell polychromos pencils. They were horribly expensive but I have tried other pencils over the years and none of them have ever given me the results I was looking for however I am delighted with my new pencils.
The last couple of weeks I have been experimenting with my pencils and I think I am ready to start sharing the results with you.
This adorable image is from A Day for Daisies and is called '
Christmas Light Fairy'. I coloured her with my new pencils and then added Glossy Accents to the bulbs, to make them appear like glass, and clear Wink of Stella brush to the fairy's wings and dress, so she twinkles.
The papers I have used for this card are all from a Dovecraft's Back to Basics Christmas pack.
Don't forget to enter your Christmas cards into this
Challenge and good luck.

Love this! Another of your wonderful layouts. I absolutely love that image and am off to buy it right now!!!! xx
ReplyDeleteOh dear, what have I done? Do you think you can catch 'buying too much craft stuff - especially digital images' over the internet?
DeleteMy favourite sites at the moment are Saturated Canary, Mo's Digital Pencil, A Day for Daisies and Delicious Doodles, I have also recently discovered Tiddly Inks (I caught this one from Chris).

Beautiful card Dee! I love the image and you really rocked it with your pencils. I have so horrible with colouring, I just don't have the patience or knack for it, but you seem to be a natural! happy weekend :)
ReplyDeleteThank you so much Pamellia, I think what you do takes an awful lot more patience - all of those layers and waiting for them to dry etc.
DeleteI am still learning with the pencils, this was the first thing I felt comfortable sharing. I will keep practicing though.
Have a great weekend.
