Welcome

Hello, my name is Dionne and I have been crafting for a very long time. As a very young child my mother tried to teach me to knit, it was a disaster. However, it must have sparked an interest in making things and, partly to prove that I was not totally useless and partly because I really wanted to make things, I taught myself to crochet. Over the years I have developed a love of cross stitch and all types of paper craft ..... I eventually even taught myself to knit.

I am married to a very understanding man, thank goodness, because I spend all my time either crafting, thinking about crafting or talking about crafting. I am hopeless at housework and dinner is often late!

Thank you for visiting my blog.

There's Snow-One Quite Like You

Eek, I'm running out of time and starting to panic!  But at least the weather is a lot warmer.

Today's cards are all from the cute Hunkydory Adorable Scorable kit called 'A Cuddly Christmas', the individual sheet is called 'There's Snow-One Quite Like You'

These two cards are alost entirely made from elements in the kit, the only addition are the decoupage Santa and the penguin.  These were a gift so I cannot tell you where they came from.

This final card has a central opening (I always think they look a little like a wardrobe!).

Surprize!

It seems that Daisy and Danny are behaving themselves at the moment .....

They have made breakfast for the children.  Now that's nice.  I love their chef outfits.

Sweetie eggs, I'm not sure mum will approve!

Penguin Cuddles

Here we go, less than a week until the big day.  How well advanced are you with your preparations?  I am not doing too bad - present bought and wrapped, cards made and sent.  I need to do a big clean up and then put up a few decoration.  After that a last trip to the supermarket to get the fresh stuff.  In between I need to meet up with a few people to give them their presents.

The first two cards in this post are from the cute Hunkydory Adorable Scorable kit called 'A Cuddly Christmas', the individual sheet is called 'Penguin Cuddles'.

This sweet decoupage penguin is part of a pack of decoupage characters a friend gave me for Christmas last year, too cute!

Everything on this penguin card came with the kit.

This Santa's big red bus was left over from one of the Hunkydory sheets I used last year but I did not keep the information on which kit it came from.  Sorry!

The elves, Daisy, Danny and Dot seem to have been exploring and have made a new friend ....

Dobby the House Elf, fancy that!

Happy Monday.

From our Home to Your Home

The cards I have to share with you today are all from the gorgeous Hunkydory Adorable Scorable kit called 'Christmas Classics', the individual sheet is called 'From our Home to Yours'.

This kit has some beautiful backing cards and high quality images, my photographs barely do them justice.

I made three lovely stepper cards from this kit with just the addition of some gold mirri card and a sentiment or two from my stash.

Time to check in on those elves again.

It seems that the three naughty elves are feeling bad about trapping Louis and Coco in that jar the night before.

They have put Louis and Coco to bed and are nursing them back to health, they do not look well.

Louis is in a really bad way, poor thing.  I hope they clean that up (so pleased it's not my house.)

Coco seems to sleeping it off, I love her tiny eye mask.

Let's take a peek at the  the home with Daisy and Danny to see what they were getting up to last night.

Oh, I have a bad feeling that I know what is going on here.

Oh no, it's worse than I thought.  They have turned into two very rude little elves!

Cosy by the Fire

I never know how to start a post, if I reference the day of the week and someone comes along on another day, then it will no longer be that day.  The only times I feel safe doing this is Christmas or New Year because then I hope the reader will forgive me.

Hopefully that has bridged that gap.  The following cards are all from the gorgeous Hunkydory Adorable Scorable kit called 'Christmas Classics', the individual sheet is called 'Cosy by the Fire'.

I did not have to do much to these pre-coloured toppers, I used 3D foam and popped them onto the matching backing card - job done.

(The sentiment on this card is from Craftwork cards.)

Nice and simple.

We have a lot of elf photographs today.  You may have spotted that we have not seen anything of Louis and Coco recently, I understand that they have been sneaking in during the night and leaving little presents for the children but they were gone before mum could get her camera out!

Mind you, the naughty boys were back last night and they set a trap for Louis and Coco.  It's not nice, you may not want to look!

The naughty boys have managed to lock them into a jar, poor Louis and Coco.

Oh my, it's worse than I thought.  Look at what they have done!

Poor Daisy has a peg on her nose!

Oh and Louis has one too.

I can share a little secret with you, the elves put peppermint oil in this jar but none of the children wanted to risk a sniff in the jar.

Let's check what Daisy and Danny got up to last night after they disgraced themselves the night before.

Seems they redeemed themselves by putting up some Christmas decorations.

House lights on .....

Houselights off.

Have you been looking for Dot?

I spy reindeer, but I cannot see Dot.

Ah, there she is!

Be back with more elf stories tomorrow.

Christmas Time

WARNING: If you are easily shocked or have a delicate constitution, you should read no further than the end of the Christmas card section of this post.

Christmas is getting awfully close now. I managed to get the last of my cards in the post a coulpe of days ago and I just have left the cards I hand out to close family. These tend to be those with more embellishments and layering - the sort which you really don't want to send through the post.

Today's group of cards are all from the Hunkydory Adorable Scorable kit called 'Christmas Classics', the sheet called Christmas Time.

This beautiful image features Santa's Workshop, it seemed far too nice to squash onto a 5 x7 inch card, so I mounted it on some of Stampin' Up's Real Red and some gold mirri card and popped the central image up with Pinflair Glue Gel.  The whole thing was then mounted onto one of Craftwork Cards 8 x 8 card blanks and I added a sentiment from my stash.

This card features a smaller version of the workshop surrounded by some inserts depicting images from inside, these are raised on 3D foam.  I added a sentiment and a little star from my stash.

The little elves attempting to keep the reindeer under control are actually part of one of the backing sheets from this set.  I mounted the inset cards on some more Real Red card and added the die cut Christmas Bauble.

The final Christmas card for today is an image of more elves placed atop of a diamond shaped frame (It's really a square stuck at an angle).

Don't forget to avert your eyes now!

One of the girls lost a tooth yesterday.  The Tooth Fairy has left the money with Dot to look after whilst the little girl sleeps.

But what have the other two been getting up to while all this has been going on?

Oh dear, clearly they have been up to no good .....

Stay safe if you have to go out today and keep warm.

Winter Magic

I hate to sound typically British but it is still bitterly cold here and looking at these cards actually makes me feel colder.

These cards are from the Hunkydory Adorable Scorable kit called 'Contemporary Christmas'

I think these images are adorable, certainly my favourite from the kit.  This frame was left over from one of the other sheets in the kit and the gold mirri snowflakes are one of my new purchases.  To complete this card I popped on some Card Candi and a sentiment from my stash.

Everything here is from the kit, except the sentiment and baker's twine - the sentiment is from Craftwork Cards.

Once again, with the exception of the sentiment, everything on this stepper card came from the kit.  I'm not sure if these are meant to be hares or rabbits.  I think rabbits, because the ears on a hare would be longer.

And finally, I mounted this image on 'old gold' mirri card and Stamin' Up Real Red card.  Then everything onto a 8x8 card blank from Craftwork Cards.  I think this one is going to hubby!

Elf time, what were these little darling up to last night?

After all of their partying the night before last I think they were all a little 'tired'!

Dot is still in bed and Daisy and Danny are playing Connect Four.

Can't blame Danny and Daisy for keeping their reindeer onesies on, they look nice and snug.

I have been a little disappointed not to see Ant and Dec, the very naughty elves, this year. But I have been told that they were so bad last year they have been told that they had to stay at the North Pole this year. They were very naughty and they were a bad influence on Daisy and Danny ... but they were funny!

Mistletoe Kisses

Just a couple of cards to share with you today, I have used elements from the Hunkydory Adorable Scorable kit called 'Contemporary Christmas' to make both cards.

The first one is that fold I mentioned the other day.

I added a couple of die cut Christmas tree ornaments I think that at least one of them is by Memory Box.  I also added a sentiment from my stash, everything else is from the Hunkydory kit.

I made a simple stepper card for the next card.  The two mistletoe images are and the backing card are from the kit and I added some ribbon and a sentiment from my stash.

I am not sure what happened to the elves yesterday, possibly the photos got help up somewhere on the internet.  Anyway, they are back tonight and it seems Daisy and Danny are training up an apprentice.  Her name is Dot.

It looks very much like the elves had a little party last night, they even have an elf sized pinata and a tiny pizza oven.

Oh dear, one of the elves is in a wheelchair, I hope they are OK.
