Welcome

Hello, my name is Dionne and I have been crafting for a very long time. As a very young child my mother tried to teach me to knit, it was a disaster. However, it must have sparked an interest in making things and, partly to prove that I was not totally useless and partly because I really wanted to make things, I taught myself to crochet. Over the years I have developed a love of cross stitch and all types of paper craft ..... I eventually even taught myself to knit.

I am married to a very understanding man, thank goodness, because I spend all my time either crafting, thinking about crafting or talking about crafting. I am hopeless at housework and dinner is often late!

Thank you for visiting my blog.

Strawberry Picking Time

The weekend is almost here, I hope you have plans for for your weekend.

Perhaps, like TeddyBea here, you are going strawberry picking.  I have not been strawberry picking for a long time but I remember going with my parents when I was a child.  Every year my mother tried to make strawberry jam, but every year it failed to set.  As I recall my father sat in the field eating all of his strawberries whilst the rest of us picked away for the jam making.

When you open a new paper pack there are always one or two papers which I think I shall never use.  This almost florescent yellow paper featuring daisies from Studio Calico was one of those papers, but it turned out to be perfect for my version of 'TeddyBea Strawberry Picking' from Teddy Bo & Co

I coloured the image with  F&C polychromos pencils.  I them mounted it on gold mirri and some pink card.  The large butterfly die is a Marianne Creatable, whilst the smaller ones are all from Stampin' Up.  The gems and ribbon are from my stash and the sentiment is from Craftwork Cards.

Don't forget to enter your 'Summer Time' projects into the Crafty Boots Challenge.

Good luck.

  1. Love that paper and there is something about strawberries and yellow that works so well. The butterflies are a lovely touch too. We've been promising ourselves to go strawberry picking for the last few years but the rain has put paid to it every time! xx

    1. I have become a very lazy strawberry picker, I pull off the road at the little kiosk at the side of the strawberry field and buy my strawberries there! Just as delicious with none of the back break.

I really hated that paper when I first saw it, but it was perfect for my little strawberry picker.

    1. Thank you Pamellia, I really like Teaddybea and she looks so cute here.

Funnily enough, after he retired and had more time to experiment, my father became a much better jam maker than my mother.

      Have a lovely weekend.

    1. Thank you, I love my butterfly dies and feel there are very few cards which cannot be improved by the addition of a butterfly or two. Ha ha!
