Welcome

Hello, my name is Dionne and I have been crafting for a very long time. As a very young child my mother tried to teach me to knit, it was a disaster. However, it must have sparked an interest in making things and, partly to prove that I was not totally useless and partly because I really wanted to make things, I taught myself to crochet. Over the years I have developed a love of cross stitch and all types of paper craft ..... I eventually even taught myself to knit.

I am married to a very understanding man, thank goodness, because I spend all my time either crafting, thinking about crafting or talking about crafting. I am hopeless at housework and dinner is often late!

Thank you for visiting my blog.

Beach Huts

It is already the midway point for the current Crafty Boots Challenge, which is 'Summer Time'.

Given our current weather, I think you would have to be quick to sun bath at the beach because we are experiencing an unusually large volume of thunderstorms at the moment, there are moments of warm sunshine but these are mostly rather muggy.  However, rain has never deterred the British, just as long as we had somewhere to shelter from the rain.  Therefore, rows of jolly beach huts line our favourite bathing spots.

My Design Team card today features the Delicious Doodles 'Beach Huts' image.  I coloured the image with pencils and mounted it on gold mirri card.  The papers are from Stampin' Up and the the other items are all from my stash.

We are very lucky to have three extremely talented Guest Designers today - Jane from 'Jane's Journal', Cicci from 'Cicci Vid Pennan' and Marlene from Cards Made by Marlene'.  Please stop by their blogs and show them some appreciations.

    1. Thank you Pamellia, there is something about beach huts and traditional seaside towns in the UK. They are always painted pretty colours and lovingly cared for by their owners - mind you they are extremely expensive so it is not surprizing they are so well cared for.

  2. Very nice image and colors. I am like obsessed with that yellow bow lol...not sure why but it's such a nice accent.

    1. Mmm, perhaps the attraction to the yellow bow (and yesterday's bow) is that I went a little OTT and gave them 6 loops - being organza they seemed a little insubstancial with the usual 2 loops.

    1. I hope you are having a lovely time in Devon, I am so envious as it is my favourite county. I have been using Ray as my yardstick as to what makes a summery card and only the ones on a yellow background made his cut.
