Welcome

Hello, my name is Dionne and I have been crafting for a very long time. As a very young child my mother tried to teach me to knit, it was a disaster. However, it must have sparked an interest in making things and, partly to prove that I was not totally useless and partly because I really wanted to make things, I taught myself to crochet. Over the years I have developed a love of cross stitch and all types of paper craft ..... I eventually even taught myself to knit.

I am married to a very understanding man, thank goodness, because I spend all my time either crafting, thinking about crafting or talking about crafting. I am hopeless at housework and dinner is often late!

Thank you for visiting my blog.

Happy Bee day

'Butterflies and Bees' is the theme of the current challenge at Crafty Boots.  Up until now all of my DT samples for this challenge have included butterflies but this is one of my favourite bee images.

Happy Bee Day is from Tiddly Inks, I have used this digi stamp a couple of times before when I coloured it in traditional black and orange and, on the second occasion, in a pink theme for Breast Cancer Awareness.  So today I decided to get a little experimental and coloured it yellow and purple with my Copic Markers.  I then mounted it on Wisteria Wonder and gold mirri card.  The Bee backing paper is from Stampin' Up, the purple ribbon and bee charm are from my stash.

Apologies for the poor quality of the photograph, I had to use artificial lighting and no matter what I tried you could still see my pink top reflected in the gold mirri.

  3. Such an adorable card. Does it take long to color the little girl?

    1. I love it when you leave a comment because you often ask questions and I like being able to help people. I am quite slow and on average a card takes me around 2 hours to make and about half of that time will be the colouring. However, this was not a very complicated image and it probably took half an hour to colour.

      I hope that helps.
