Welcome

Hello, my name is Dionne and I have been crafting for a very long time. As a very young child my mother tried to teach me to knit, it was a disaster. However, it must have sparked an interest in making things and, partly to prove that I was not totally useless and partly because I really wanted to make things, I taught myself to crochet. Over the years I have developed a love of cross stitch and all types of paper craft ..... I eventually even taught myself to knit.

I am married to a very understanding man, thank goodness, because I spend all my time either crafting, thinking about crafting or talking about crafting. I am hopeless at housework and dinner is often late!

Thank you for visiting my blog.

The Princess and the Pea

Hopefully I will get this post written without interruption today.  Yesterday was exceptionally frustrating, first with the intrusion of Windows 10 installation and then, as I reached the end of the process, my thumb touched the touch sensitive pad and I managed to delete the lot.

My card today may not instantly appear to qualify for the current Crafty Boots challenge 'Queens, Princesses and Crowns' but this image illustrates the well known children's story of the Princess and the Pea.

As usual, I coloured this Saturated Canary image with Promarkers, the image is called 'Princess Penelope'.

The backing papers ad gems are from my stash and the sentiment is from Tiddly Inks.

Happy Wednesday.

  1. I love that story Princess and the Pea. I remember it from my childhood. This card is perfect to trigger someone's favorite childhood stories. Great detail and effort.

    1. When I was a little girl I imagined that I could feel objects under my mattress, just like the princess. It was probably something to do with my sister who slept in the bottom bunk!

  2. Great image and great layout. I loved the story too and often refer to it when I have a bad night. Unfortunately other people have no idea what I am on about it! What a pain about Windows - but does that mean you haven't got to put up with it? xx

    1. Thank you Mrs Beez. I am afraid it is our age, for some reason our peers did not tell their children the old stories and Walt Disney have never made a film about this story.

I am getting use to Windows 10 however, I have also picked up Chromium (It's been a bad week all in all) and that is much more of a pain. I am also getting emails claiming to be from Windows which say they are detecting unusual activity on my email account and they are asking me for all sorts of personal 'security' information. I suspect it is a scam because my Mcafee has not detected a problem.

      Ho hum!
