Hello, my name is Dionne and I have been crafting for a very long time. As a very young child my mother tried to teach me to knit, it was a disaster. However, it must have sparked an interest in making things and, partly to prove that I was not totally useless and partly because I really wanted to make things, I taught myself to crochet. Over the years I have developed a love of cross stitch and all types of paper craft ..... I eventually even taught myself to knit.


I am married to a very understanding man, thank goodness, because I spend all my time either crafting, thinking about crafting or talking about crafting. I am hopeless at housework and dinner is often late!

Butterfly Baby

It is a Bank Holiday today in the UK, so most of us are enjoying a long weekend.  The English, with our ironic sense of humour, joke about the weather always being disappointing for Bank Holiday weekends.  I wonder how today will turn out, the forecast is for rain, now there is a surprize!

We are at the midway point in the current Crafty Boots Monochrome Challenge and I am still enjoying myself experimenting with single colour cards.  Now, before you point out that I have not coloured the skin of this little  fairy with purple, the Crafty Boots rules do allow for flesh to be flesh tone (although I note this does not apply to hair!)


I coloured this cute little Butterfly Baby from Saturated Canary with Pomarkers.  I than mounted the image on some silver mirri card, the backing Paper is from Stampin' Up, as is the sentiment Stamp.  The Card Candy is from Craftwork Cards and the die is one from my stash, I am afraid I have no idea who made it but I got it from C&C many years ago.

    The choice of purples was perfect for this image and the colouring is, once again, superb and give it a magical quality. Hope you're having a good weekend xx

      Thank you Mrs Beez, I wish I had the courage more often to do purple hair ... or blue or red. Rather loved it on this fairy.

    How sweet Dionne! Love the shiny paper and your beautiful image! The fancy die cut behind the sentiment is lovely!! Love the monochrome theme, I will totally be jumping in on that one! Hope you had a great week, hugs :)
