Welcome
Hello, my name is Dionne and I have been crafting for a very long time. As a very young child my mother tried to teach me to knit, it was a disaster. However, it must have sparked an interest in making things and, partly to prove that I was not totally useless and partly because I really wanted to make things, I taught myself to crochet. Over the years I have developed a love of cross stitch and all types of paper craft ..... I eventually even taught myself to knit.
I am married to a very understanding man, thank goodness, because I spend all my time either crafting, thinking about crafting or talking about crafting. I am hopeless at housework and dinner is often late!
Thank you for visiting my blog.

Clean and Simple
Today I thought I would have another go at a card for a more mature gentleman. My original concept was to layer lots of white card, but I could see that was not working so I added the layers of red.
I cut the letters out four times and stuck them together to get very chunky and solid looking letters. What looks a very quick and easy card actually took me hours and I am really not sure about it.
To be honest I am on the verge of going back to sending the men in my life pictures of toy soldiers and dragons. What do you think?

Excellent CAS card Dionne! Love using the name as the focal point! hugs :)
ReplyDeleteThank you Pamellia. I was in truth a little disappointed with it, however, it looks a little better in reality, the layers did not photograph that well.

This is great Dionne and would be perfect for my "mature gentleman"!!!! Which dies did you use for the letters as they are fabulous?
ReplyDeleteThe letters were the best bit and they look really chunky in reality. I spent ages trying to get the Happy Birthday to line up but the letters seemed to be different sizes even though they come from the same card. The letter dies are Stampin' Up.
