Welcome

Hello, my name is Dionne and I have been crafting for a very long time. As a very young child my mother tried to teach me to knit, it was a disaster. However, it must have sparked an interest in making things and, partly to prove that I was not totally useless and partly because I really wanted to make things, I taught myself to crochet. Over the years I have developed a love of cross stitch and all types of paper craft ..... I eventually even taught myself to knit.

I am married to a very understanding man, thank goodness, because I spend all my time either crafting, thinking about crafting or talking about crafting. I am hopeless at housework and dinner is often late!

Thank you for visiting my blog.

Be My Valentine

There's a hint of romance in the air.  A new challenge starts today at Crafty Boots Challenges, the theme of which is 'Hearts and Valentines'.  We would love to see you Valentine's Day projects, anniversary projects and wedding day projects.

Over the years I have made a lot of cards for St Valentine's Day and it is so hard to think of something different for my husband.

I cut a large heart shape out of a sheet of blue glitter card and covered it with pale blue buttons - a very sticky job.  I added a small arrangement of Wild Orchid Crafts roses in one 'corner'.  I then embossed some white card and layered it with navy blue card.  I also added a navy butterfly in one corner and decorated it with some blue flat backed gems.

The rest of the Crafty Boots Design Team have made some fabulous projects, please pop over and take a look.

Don't forget to enter your own romantic projects.

Good luck.

  1. Oh my gosh Dionne, this is brilliant! What a lot of work to glue on all of those buttons! Love the dark roses and butterfly, such a great contrast against the pale blue heart! Fabulous! hugs :)

    1. Thank you hunny. I am so pleased that I will not be posting this card because all of those buttons make for one very heavy card.

  2. Wow, wow and wow again! How brilliant is this. Buttons over the glitter, what a great idea - how did you have the patience?? Then that beautiful array of blue roses plus a bejewelled butterfly to finish it all off. Amazing and I love it.

    1. Thank you. I must have spent three weeks trying to think of a design for this challenge and tea time Sunday I still had no idea. This all came together out of now where, trouble is the glue was still wet when I was photographing it.
