Hello, my name is Dionne and I have been crafting for a very long time. As a very young child my mother tried to teach me to knit, it was a disaster. However, it must have sparked an interest in making things and, partly to prove that I was not totally useless and partly because I really wanted to make things, I taught myself to crochet. Over the years I have developed a love of cross stitch and all types of paper craft ..... I eventually even taught myself to knit.

I am married to a very understanding man, thank goodness, because I spend all my time either crafting, thinking about crafting or talking about crafting. I am hopeless at housework and dinner is often late!

Thank you for visiting my blog.

Christmas Present

Good morning, I hope you had a good weekend.

It is beginning to feel a lot like Christmas around here, with a family get together on Saturday and lunch with friends yesterday.  Sadly this left little time for crafting and really do need to make a few more Christmas cards.

The current challenge at Crafty Boots Challenges is 'Christmas', rather handy under the circumstances as it has given me the opportunity to make this card.

This sweet little image is from a Day for Daisies, it is called 'A Doll for Me'.  I coloured it with Promarkets and a little bit of paper piecing.  The backing papers are from my stash, come to think of it, so are the glitter card, Christmas charm and little pearl,  The sentiment is from Craftwork Cards.

  1. Fabulous holiday card Dionne! Love your non-traditional colours and the fancy shape of the card is really unique! holiday hugs :)

  2. Thank you. I like to mix things up from time to time, well don't we all!

Right back at you my friend.

    Dionne x

  3. Such a lovely design. Adore the paper piecing on the cute image.

  4. Thank you Desire. I enjoy paper piecing, I should do it more often.

  5. Gorgeous colours and I love the layers of fabulous backing papers. xx

  6. Thank you, I tried to do the thing you do with the white pen but I need more practice. xx

  7. Oh what a cute little Christmas charm! You have given me an idea for next years cards...! Which I think should be made in January to save the last minute rush crafting next year! :)

    1. Oww, what idea have you had for next year, I still have a box full of charms?
