Welcome

Hello, my name is Dionne and I have been crafting for a very long time. As a very young child my mother tried to teach me to knit, it was a disaster. However, it must have sparked an interest in making things and, partly to prove that I was not totally useless and partly because I really wanted to make things, I taught myself to crochet. Over the years I have developed a love of cross stitch and all types of paper craft ..... I eventually even taught myself to knit.

I am married to a very understanding man, thank goodness, because I spend all my time either crafting, thinking about crafting or talking about crafting. I am hopeless at housework and dinner is often late!

Thank you for visiting my blog.

Jumper for a Toddler

I think it is even colder today, everything will seem so much better when the Spring arrives.

With this post there are two things I am willing to predict, one, you are thinking not another jumper and, two, she seems addicted to those multi coloured yarns.  And you would be right on both counts.

This colour changing yarn knits up in stripes rather than the speckle I showed you at the beginning of this week.  Both styles of yarn are King Cole Cherish Double Knit.  The pattern for the jumper is one of my favourite ones - Stylecraft 4910.

That's it for this post.  Thank you for visiting, why not leave a comment and let me know you stopped by and tell me what you have been doing today?

Take care and stay warm.

    1. Hi Carol

It is such a relief that Hollie is back home, I was so worried about her (and I have never met her, goodness knows how you were all feeling!).

I feel that, with these colour changing yarns, they are fussy enough and do not require a lacy pattern. Therefore, I use my simplest design - more relaxing to make and they knit up so much quicker. Whilst I was making this jumper, I met a lovely lady, who was not a knitter, and she thought that I was having to change wools to get the colour changing effect. When I showed her the ball, her reaction was fabulous, it was as if I had just revealed how a magic trick was performed!

      Have a great weekend.

    2. The wool does give a really good effect. We were worried sick about Hollie never seen her so ill she couldn't drink or even talk which if you knew her was a biggie syptom all was not well-she just deteriorated so quickly in a day -but thankfully all is well and believe it or not she was back at school today but back to hospital for a check up tomorrow

    3. Amazing, children are so resilient. Why can't we recover like that at our age?

So pleased to hear that she is back to her old self.

  2. Gorgeous knit - these colours are so stunning together and are in themselves very spring like. xxx

    1. Oh, I know, I adore these Cherish yarns. There are so many of them and so diverse - a large range of colours and then the colour changing ones and the speckle ones and, finally, the sparkly ones and all lovely and soft. Perhaps I should ask for sponsorship?
