Welcome

Hello, my name is Dionne and I have been crafting for a very long time. As a very young child my mother tried to teach me to knit, it was a disaster. However, it must have sparked an interest in making things and, partly to prove that I was not totally useless and partly because I really wanted to make things, I taught myself to crochet. Over the years I have developed a love of cross stitch and all types of paper craft ..... I eventually even taught myself to knit.

I am married to a very understanding man, thank goodness, because I spend all my time either crafting, thinking about crafting or talking about crafting. I am hopeless at housework and dinner is often late!

Thank you for visiting my blog.

See the Wood for the Trees

A new challenge starts today at Crafty Boots, the theme of which is 'See the Wood for the Trees'.  For this challenge the Design Team will be looking for images of trees, wood grain or perhaps even something made of wood, really it is up to you and your imaginations.

My card today features a Woodware stamp called Going to Seed - I hope you can see the detail.

I coloured the image with Promarkers and mounted it on gold card as well as some green card.  (I cut the banner from the same green card.)  The wooden plank effect backing paper came from my Timeless Texture paper stack.  The rest is from my stash.

(I know the Happy Birthday Craftwork Cards sentiment at the centre of the rosette looks very off center.  However, I have just checked and on the card it is perfectly centered, it must be the angle of the photograph.)

The rest of the Design Team have been working their fingers to the bone making cards, please pop along to the Crafty Boots blog and take a look.

Have a great week.

    1. Thanks Carol. It was one of those stamps I just had to have ... and so simple to colour. I just wish I could have got a better photo. I really thought the change of bulb in my craft light would help but I was working with it on over the weekend and I noticed a drop in the brightness and it never came back.

Perhaps I will try to take it again .... if it ever stops raining!

    1. Thank you, I spend a lot of time looking at the blogs of other crafters and I get to see a lot of stamps. Fortunately, most people tell you the make and name of the stamps they use so I can order those I like. As for layouts, I have no idea where that comes from but I think we all develop a personal style.
