Welcome

Hello, my name is Dionne and I have been crafting for a very long time. As a very young child my mother tried to teach me to knit, it was a disaster. However, it must have sparked an interest in making things and, partly to prove that I was not totally useless and partly because I really wanted to make things, I taught myself to crochet. Over the years I have developed a love of cross stitch and all types of paper craft ..... I eventually even taught myself to knit.

I am married to a very understanding man, thank goodness, because I spend all my time either crafting, thinking about crafting or talking about crafting. I am hopeless at housework and dinner is often late!

Thank you for visiting my blog.

Jolly Holly Post Box

I hope that you have been enjoying Christmas in July as much as I have.  We are approaching the end of this Crafty Boots Challenge, so I only have a few more cards to share with you.

My card today features Delicious Doodles' 'Jolly Holly Postbox',which I coloured with F&C pencils and then mounted it on gold mirri card.

The backing paper is from the Dovecraft Christmas Glad Tidings paper pack. The flowers and berries are from Wild Orchid Crafts and the sentiment is from Craftwork Cards.  To be honest, I cannot remember where the red glitter card came from.

Have a great day.

    1. Thank you. In Britain the 'Robin', with it's red breast feathers, is considered by many to be our national bird and is commonly seen on Christmas cards. In many rural places, this type of post box is still in use, you see them down country lanes and villages stilling atop their poles on verges.

    2. That's so neat. I did not know that. I like learning new things especially in a different place :)

Opps, spotted a typo in the previous message, postboxes sit atop their poles. I have no idea what stilling is! haha.

    1. Thank you. My husband likes a Robin on his Christmas card, so I may well send this one to him.

  3. I thought of Ray as soon as I saw this as I still remember is comment :) I need to go back to Delicious Doodles and check out their images again as you have showcased ones I don't think I have seen (or bought!). Love this one and the way you have showcased it. Those frosty berries are fab too. xx

    1. Ray and his Robins, he is such an old fashioned lad! I seem to have got a bit hooked on Delicious Doodles but I have been colouring other brands, just have not had the chance to turn them into cards yet.

PS I love those frosted berries.
