Hello, my name is Dionne and I have been crafting for a very long time. As a very young child my mother tried to teach me to knit, it was a disaster. However, it must have sparked an interest in making things and, partly to prove that I was not totally useless and partly because I really wanted to make things, I taught myself to crochet. Over the years I have developed a love of cross stitch and all types of paper craft ..... I eventually even taught myself to knit.


I am married to a very understanding man, thank goodness, because I spend all my time either crafting, thinking about crafting or talking about crafting. I am hopeless at housework and dinner is often late!

Spring Bringer

We have reached the midway point of the Crafty Boots 'Use a Sentiment' Challenge.  There have been so many gorgeous entries in the challenge already but there is still loads of time for you to enter your projects.

It has been a beautiful weekend, well once it stopped raining, blue skies, bright sunshine but cold in the shade and freezing at nights.  Further north I know my Crafty Boots Team Mates have had snow and I am grateful to have missed it.


My thank you card today features a Sylvia Zet image called 'Spring Bringer'.    As you can see I coloured her with Promarkers and then mounted her on silver mirri card.  I cut a step card and covered it in green card.  The sentiment is a Stampin' Up stamp.  Finally I added some daisies from Wild Orchid Crafts.

    Oh this is so soft and pretty Dionne! I love that image, she is darling! The rows of flowers on either side really frame your image well, what a lovely spring card! hugs :)

      Thank you Pamellia, I too liked the fresh spring colours and I tried my hand at colouring a transparent fabric ... not too shabby.

    Wonderful! Love the stepper design and the borders of daisies looks amazing, especially against the green. I'd forgotten about that fabulous sentiment stamp too - one of my favourites. We had snow and rain and hail and.....xx

      Thank you Mrs Beez. That stamp set is also one of my favourites. I made this card as an acceptance to an afternoon tea party. Mmmmmm!

      Thank you, I was experimenting with this card. I wanted to give the tunic a transparent look. I watched a lot of videos on YouTabe but, even so, I am not sure I pulled it off.
