Welcome

Hello, my name is Dionne and I have been crafting for a very long time. As a very young child my mother tried to teach me to knit, it was a disaster. However, it must have sparked an interest in making things and, partly to prove that I was not totally useless and partly because I really wanted to make things, I taught myself to crochet. Over the years I have developed a love of cross stitch and all types of paper craft ..... I eventually even taught myself to knit.

I am married to a very understanding man, thank goodness, because I spend all my time either crafting, thinking about crafting or talking about crafting. I am hopeless at housework and dinner is often late!

Thank you for visiting my blog.

Happy Mother's Day

In the UK it is Mother's Day today.

In memory of my mother, her mother and her mother's mother, and all the way back through my  family, I have made a card and a matching tag to celebrate the lives of all these strong, caring, wonderful women who each shaped the next generation.

This lovely Teddy Bo and Co stamp is called "Dressmaker Bea", isn't she delightful?

I coloured the image with my Flexmarkers and Promarkers and mouted it on gold mirri board.  I then distress some white card with Tim Holtz Distress Ink, Stormy Sky and used a Promarker to colour the doily.

The roses and diamante buckle charm are from Wild Orchid Crafts and the die is a Marianne Creatable Die called Branch Forest.  The pink ribbon is from my stash.

I made the tag in much the same way only on a slightly smaller scale.

And before I go, to all of you who are mothers, no matter where you are, happy Mother's Day and thank you for doing everything you do.

I am entering this card and tag in the following challenges:
