Hello, my name is Dionne and I have been crafting for a very long time. As a very young child my mother tried to teach me to knit, it was a disaster. However, it must have sparked an interest in making things and, partly to prove that I was not totally useless and partly because I really wanted to make things, I taught myself to crochet. Over the years I have developed a love of cross stitch and all types of paper craft ..... I eventually even taught myself to knit.


I am married to a very understanding man, thank goodness, because I spend all my time either crafting, thinking about crafting or talking about crafting. I am hopeless at housework and dinner is often late!

White Cardigan with Twist Detail

Hi

I have a really massive backlog of knitted projects to post and I thought I would make a start with this old favourite of mine.  I must knit this pattern for everyone I know who had a baby.  It has a really easy mock cable detail, which makes my friends think that I am a much better knitter than I really am.


This time I have made it in white baby Double Knit.  The design is from a very old Robin pattern - for anyone who is interested, the pattern number is 2496.


I find photographing the detail so difficult but, I think you can just about make out the mock cable pattern in this close up.

      You are a star Carol, I really appreciate you taking the trouble to comment on my knitting projects. I think they are gorgeous of course but, in a paper crafting world, I know they are not everyone's cuppa!

    I used to love knitting for mine when they were babies well and up to about 4yrs then lost interest when the sizes got bigger lol-well knitting is still a craft and should be appreciated whether you knit or not really

      Ha ha, I hear what you are saying Carol. I once tried to knit a cardigan for a friend, it seemed to go on and on and on - I never did finish it. I much prefer makig things for little ones, be that babies or teddy bears.
