Cross Stitch, knitting, crochet, dressmaking, card making, scrapbook and wedding stationery.
Welcome
Hello, my name is Dionne and I have been crafting for a very long time. As a very young child my mother tried to teach me to knit, it was a disaster. However, it must have sparked an interest in making things and, partly to prove that I was not totally useless and partly because I really wanted to make things, I taught myself to crochet. Over the years I have developed a love of cross stitch and all types of paper craft ..... I eventually even taught myself to knit.
I am married to a very understanding man, thank goodness, because I spend all my time either crafting, thinking about crafting or talking about crafting. I am hopeless at housework and dinner is often late!
Thank you for visiting my blog.

Spring is in the Air
The last couple of days it has been very wet here and I suspect that April shows have blown in a few days early. But, if you take a look about, there are plenty of signs that spring has arrived, for example it seems that there are daffodils everywhere. A few years ago a lot of our local councils decided to prettify the roundabouts and verges by planting hundreds of daffodils, they have now multiplied and spread and now their pretty nodding heads are everywhere you go.

Easter Bunny
I hope the Easter bunny left you at least one chocolate egg this morning.
Well, what a change in the weather. Friday was a beautiful spring day, warm and sunny but yesterday was bitterly cold and windy and in the evening we had very heavy showers. I wonder what today will bring?
How are you planning to spend your day, relaxing at home? Going to church? Spending it with family? Perhaps you are cooking a lovely lunch for 15 of your nearest and dearest? I am being treated to lunch, lucky me!!

Easter Bunny Bo Take II
I have another Easter card to share with you this afternoon. I have lost count of how many Easter cards I have shared with you over the last couple of weeks, is anyone else keeping count?
This is another image from the Teddy Bo and Company stable, this one is called 'Easter Bunny Bo', unfortunately this is another of their retired images. After colouring the image with Promarkers I mounted it on some sliver mirri and Night of Navy card from Stampin' Up. The coordinated packing paper are also from Stampin' Up. The Card Candy and ribbon is from my stash.
This posting marathon is almost over. I have just one more Easter card to share with you and I shall be back in the morning to do that.
Have a good evening.

Easter Carly Take II
I am hear this morning to share another of my Easter cards with you. This one features 'Easter Carly' from Mo's Digital Pencil.
After colouring the image with Promarkers I mounted it onto Perfect Plum coloured card from Stampin' Up. The matching polka dot paper and the zig zag paper were also from Stampin' Up. The other paper was from the Dovecraft Back to Basics IV stack. The butterflies were die cut using a Sizzix die. The Card Candy and flat backed gems were from my stash.
I shall be back with another card this afternoon but there is still time for you to enter your Easter projects in the current Crafty Boots Easter Challenge.

Who Ate All The Eggs Bea?
I purchased this image, which is called 'Who Are All the Eggs', from Teddy Bo and Co some time ago but never had the chance to colour it before. This year I was determined to make a card using it so I could share with you this year.
I coloured the image with Promarkers and Wink of Stella pens. I mounted the image on gold mirri and Real Red card. The coordinated backing papers were from Stampin' Up. The eggs were cut with an X Cut die and the sentiment was made on my PC.
Enjoy the rest of the day.

Chocolate Pip Take II
My card this morning features another of my favourite Easter images, this one is called Chocolate Pip and it is one of the Sherbet Pip range from Sugar Nellies.
I coloured the image with Promarkers and mounted it on Real Red card and gold mirri. The coordinated backing paper is from Stampin' Up. The little egg shapes were cut with an X Cut die, the bakers twine was from my stash and the sentiment was made on my computer.

Who Ate All The Eggs Bo? Take II
Easter Bunny Bea Take II
One of the things about seasonal cards is that you only get to use those images once a year and the Easter images are amongst my favourites. Teddy Bea dressed as the Easter bunny has to be up there as a favourite of mine.
Easter Teddy Bea is from Teddy Bo and Co, I am not sure, but I think this image has now been retired. I coloured the image with Promarkers and I added Wink of Stella to the eggs in her basket. Both the backing papers and the matching Perfect Plum card, which I mounted the image on, were from Stampin' Up. The ribbon was from my stash and the additional Easter eggs were cut using an X Cut die.

Hoppy Easter
As you know, the theme of the current Crafty Boots Challenge is 'Easter' and I have a quick Easter card to share with you today.
Everything about this card has been die cut ... except from the sentiment of course. I started with my new Presscut Center Stepper die to make the card blank. I then used a Cheery Lynn Bunny Rabbit die and I cut the egg from a X Cut set of nesting egg shaped dies. The green glitter fringe is an Alterations die. I purchased the tiny paper dragon flies from a very nice lady on ebay.

Easter Challenge
This year seems to be flying by, it seems as if we have only just had Christmas and the New Year and now Easter is only a week or two away. Not everyone sends Easter cards, although the giving of Easter Eggs is fairly widespread. I have been doing a little reading into why we give chocolate eggs at Easter. Apparently the church did not allow the consumption of eggs the week before Easter, so they were saved, decorated and then given to children on Easter Sunday. The Victorians gave cardboard eggs containing Easter gifts. With the development of chocolate, solid chocolate eggs were developed in Germany and Switzerland.
I make cards for close members of my family. Over the years I have collected quite a few 'Easter' themed images, however, I have bought a few new ones for this year, this is my first of them:
The Crafty Boots Design Team have been really busy, please make sure you take a look when you are there entering your Easter projects.
Good luck.

Fairy Lanterns
I am back today with day 3 of my easy gift ideas. These lovely candle jars were inspired by Nichola Battilana.
I dropped a battery powered tea light into the jar before wrapping ribbon and white twine around the rim and putting on the lid. I popped a little fairy charm onto the twine.
There is still time to add your projects to the current Crafty Boots Challenge.
Good luck.

Chocolate Box
Today I would like to show you, what is possibly my favourite gift idea, probably because I know my mother would have loved it, she adored dark chocolate. I got the idea for this completely edible box of chocolates from Elise Strachan.

Red High Heels
I used some embossed Real Red card for the background and added two Tattered Lace High Heel Glam Stiletto Shoe dies. I then added the butterfly boarder by Joy Craft. Finally, I added several daisies made from Joy Crafts Flower Daisy die and some white brads.

60th Birthday Step Card
It was Mothering Sunday yesterday and I hope you were spoilt by your family, even if you do not live in the UK, after all it does not have to be a special day to be treated by those who love us.
I still have the tail end of that cold and cough and will be so happy when it goes. Unfortunately, I have not felt much like crafting over the last couple of weeks and I am very behind with things, I need to get busy. A little bit of sunshine and a large portion of inspiration is what I need now.
I mentioned last week that I have a lot of 'big' birthday's coming up and I have been using the Stampin' Up Balloon Celebration bundle to make some of these cards, nothing seems to say party quite like balloons. I made this card for one of my cousins, I have quite a large extended family, which is great when we all get together but it does mean lots of birthday and Christmas cards.
