Welcome

Hello, my name is Dionne and I have been crafting for a very long time. As a very young child my mother tried to teach me to knit, it was a disaster. However, it must have sparked an interest in making things and, partly to prove that I was not totally useless and partly because I really wanted to make things, I taught myself to crochet. Over the years I have developed a love of cross stitch and all types of paper craft ..... I eventually even taught myself to knit.

I am married to a very understanding man, thank goodness, because I spend all my time either crafting, thinking about crafting or talking about crafting. I am hopeless at housework and dinner is often late!

Thank you for visiting my blog.

Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star

Monday again and today sees the start if a new Crafty Boots Challenge.

For the next two weeks we should like to see all of your fabulous starry creations.  They could be to do with the night sky or the silver screen or, you could be like me, and see this as an opportunity to get on with a few outstanding Christmas cards.

I am not sure, I may have overdone it with the stars on this card ......

I have been playing with my new masks and Cosmic Shimmer Texture Pastes again.  I got totally carried away this time and tried to create a 'rainbow' effect by using all of my pastes.  I may have mashed up the colours a bit but the photo does not do the amount of glitter in these pastes justice.  I have to thank my good friend and team mate Mrs Beez for getting me into this, Mrs Beez gave me my first two pots of Cosmic Shimmer paste for my birthday

The paper is from a Papermania stack, which I bought last year, and the glittery stars were cut from some glitter card from my stash.

The rest of the Design Team have been so busy working on their Star projects so make sure you pop over to the Crafty Boots Challenge and take a look.

  1. Brilliant design and you absolutely haven't over done it. It has a real party/celebratory/festive feel to it and made me smile the moment I saw it (remember it's Monday - so that's no mean feat!).xx

    1. Thank you my friend. it is a very tactile card. I have now got that Lionel Richie song playing in my head ... Karamu, fiesta, forever, come on and sing along!

Anyone up for an 80's quiz night?

  3. Wow, how fabulous! I love the contrast of the bright glitters on the dark paper against the white background paper with the text! Brilliant Dionne! Thank you for your lovely comments on my blog while I was on holiday! I had a great time with my Mom, although the week flew by too quickly! Hope you had a wonderful week as well! hugs :)

  4. I have enjoyed playing with the masks and textured paste but I struggle to utilise efforts in a card, I suspect I am doing it all wrong and need to find a nice workshop to go on.
