Hi
All year I have been decorating 8 inch MDF letter with buttons for my family and friends.
Today I wanted to share with you some smaller decorated letters. As you can see I have been experimenting with different ways of embellishing them.
All of the MDF letter came from a lovely man called
Barry, who I found on
ebay. They are 3 inches high and before painting them with acrylic paint I gave them a coat of Gesso.
I covered this letter 'A' with Flower Soft after painting the letter with white acrylic paint.
The letter 'N' I painted baby pink and then I covered it with flat backed faux pearls.
I actually did the letter 'C' first, I painted it blue and, once it was dry, I covered it in small blue 'shirt; buttons. I then added some Petaloo Flora Doodle flowers from my stash.
I was not sure if this would work. First, I painted this letter 'Y' red with acrylic paint. I then cut the shape of the 'Y' out of red glitter card. I think it worked pretty well!
I saved this one for last because I was my favourite. After giving the letter 'D' a couple of coats of lilac pearlescent acrylic paint, I added a few paper roses from Wild Orchid Crafts.
I hope my family and friends like these letters as much as I do.

What a great set. Those pearls look amazing (how patient you must be!) and I'm torn between the red glittery one and the D as my absolute favourite! xx
ReplyDeleteThank you. The are so small compared to the others, I think that is what makes them so cute.
DeleteWow Dionne, you have been a busy girl! These are fabulous, I love them all! The flower soft was a genius idea and I love how you did the pearls on a diagonal! Red glitter...can't go wring with that! Great makes my friend! hugs :)
ReplyDeleteI still have a box of letters to decorate, it is amazing how many requests I get for them. This set were special though, they are so much smaller than the ones I normally to, like little babies.
ReplyDeleteI can only imagine what you would do with a blank letter - nothing as mundane as buttons, I'd bet!
